Does a dog chase the ball and bring it back because he’s smart or because he’s stupid.
This comes to mind as I was out walking and one of our neighbors was out having their dog chase a ball. The dog seemed to really enjoy it. I’m not sure how much the neighbor was into it.
It brought to mind when we had a dog and took it out to play fetch. We threw the ball. The dog took off and ran and picked it up. The dog brought the ball back to us. We threw the ball again. I can’t remember if he went for a second time, but I know at least by the third time instead of going and bringing it back he just looked at us like we were stupid.
We always thought that was an indication of how intelligent our dog was.
How about us when we get into the habit of doing things without thinking. We mow and edge the grass. It grows back. We move it again. And the cycle goes on. Think about our tasks: Washing the car, making our bed, folding clothes, adding cream and sugar to our coffee. Add what you want. Does that mean we’re smart or stupid?
Ask your dog.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.
