Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2026-388: Should-a-Beens: Temple Anarchy

I recently looked into the events and declaration around the building of the temple.  I started in II Chronicles 6 and went all the way back to the building of the Tabernacle.  Part of the impetus of this was the declaration by a Bible teacher that God never told David or Solomon to build the temple. It was not His idea.

That seemed a strange statement, but as you look at the beginnings, you can see that the idea was born in the “heart of David”.  Solomon is speaking,

(2Ch 6:7 KJV)  Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
It did not come directly from God.

In one of the passages, God even declares that during all of the years of moving in and the wilderness, He never asked them to build him a house of Cedar.
(2Sa 7:5 KJV)  Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
(2Sa 7:6 KJV)  Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
(2Sa 7:7 KJV)  In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
Notice the question marks.  The idea was that God was perfectly happy with the tabernacle.  I would say that God’s plan was for a mobile worship center.

We run into a similar issue in the monarchy.  What was God’s original plan for how His people were to be governed?  God wanted to be their king.  The people started to pout and we have this confession,
(1Sa 8:7 KJV)  And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
Did God always planned on Saul becoming king?  Was a monarchy always in the works?  That depends on whether you’re a Calvinist or not.  No matter what your theology, God is obviously unhappy about it.

Why would God be satisfied with the anarchy of the judges and the mobility of the Tabernacle?

Both the monarchy and the temple speak of a stationary location for the center of power.  The monarchy transfers the focus of power from God Almighty to a king.  The temple ties the presence of God to one location.  Neither one of these was God’s plan.  He conceded them because it seems that the people needed it, or at least wanted it.

Where would we be today in living out God’s plan for humanity if Israel had never had a king and had been content with the Tabernacle?  Interesting thought.  Maybe I will find it interesting again.

Opus 2026-080: A Verse for My Granddaughter

My granddaughter’s favorite animal after her cat is the unicorn.  We have assumed that they are mythical creatures.  I am not sure she agrees with that.  The King James translators may have agreed with her.

Psalm 92:10 (KJV) But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Modern translations seem to substitute “wild ox” but what is the basis for that?  In a moment of whimsey I checked out the Hebrew on my software.  I was under the impression that we only saw “unicorn” once but in the KJV it occurs nine times.  It says that this is one of those words that we have no idea about what it means.  Could the KJV translators have known something we don’t?

The word “horn” at the beginning of the verse is in the singular.  It would make sense that this refers to an animal with one horn.

Keep in mind all the times that statements in the Bible have been mocked by scholars only to find out that the Bible had the last laugh.  Don’t be shocked if someday they dig up a skeleton that has a horn in the center of its forehead.  It would be extra special if they found it in the stables of King David.

Stranger things have happened.

Opus 2026-054: On the Other Hand…

How would the world be different if certain people had died sooner?

The first one that comes to my mind is George Washington.  During the French and Indian war when he was rescuing the remnants of Braddock’s army, what would  have happened if one of those many musket balls that went through his coat had been just a little bit different and had taken his life.  Would the American Revolution have started without Washington’s uniting presence?  I can guarantee you that we would have never won the war because he was the one who was totally indispensable.  He’s the one that held them together.  He’s the one that deserved their trust.  So definitely the world will be different today.

What if Hitler died earlier?  I think we can say that things would’ve definitely been different.  Millions of people would’ve lived that died.  Of course we don’t know what direction European politics would have taken.  There could’ve been many more wars.  In fact, if the history of Europe was anything to go by, there would have been more wars.  It’s very possible that the Soviet Union would have been able to continue to expand without anything to stop it.  Would that matter?   What if Stalin had died as a young man?  The Communist revolution would’ve still proceeded.  But what would’ve happened after that?  I don’t know what role he played but it’s possible that Trosky would not have been murdered.  It’s possible that Lenin would never have emerged as a leader.  They’re all kinds of possibilities.

How would the world be different if Napoleon had never lived?  Again we don’t know how the politics of Europe would’ve worked out, it could’ve been just as bloody only with different leaders.  The concept of a national army in total war would have not come so early.  The Napoleonic codes would never have been written.

What if Octavian, commonly also known as Caesar Augustus, had lost the wars against his rivals.  Would any of them have had the focus and the priorities to make Rome an empire that would endure?  If the Roman empire had fallen apart earlier, how would history be different?

If Mohammed had never lived, would someone else have been raised up to replace him?  Of course, if you were a devout Muslim, you would think, yes, Allah would have raised somebody else up.  If you are just about anyone else, you would think it would be almost impossible for anyone to be so delusional.  The development around the Mediterranean would have certainly changed as the different Christian groups would be in constant conflict, and the schisms within the church would become very pronounced.  Would Rome have dominated the way it did?

Speculate.  I am glad you are still with us to make a difference.

Opus 2026-053: Oh Well…

I was thinking about the death of Charlie Kirk.  He was a young man who was going to be a world changer, and in spite of his death, he may still be a world changer.  We have to wait and see.

I wonder how many other deaths I can think of where it changed the direction of the world.  I am sure others have addressed this.  There are probably books on it.  When I taught middle school and assigned term papers about famous people it was one of the questions I asked:  How would the world be different if the person had never lived?

One that comes to mind is Abraham Lincoln.  If Abraham Lincoln had lived, then the soft-sell of reconstruction would’ve been the game.  He wanted to bring the states back in with almost no penalties and no consequences for what they’ve done.  Johnson tried to implement the policies that Lincoln wanted to put into play.  He didn’t have enough political power.  The radical Republicans shot him down, tried to impeach him and generally made his life miserable.  If Lincoln had lived, things would’ve gone in a direction in a very different direction. I ’m not sure if it would’ve been good or bad, but it would’ve been different.

How would the world have been different if Julius Caesar had listened to the warnings?  It would have certainly made a difference in the direction of Rome.  Rome had a republic which was deteriorating.  Cesar had a lot of great ideas and had he managed to get them finalized Rome would have run much more smoothly and might have lasted even longer.  Of course it was from the point of view of a dictator or a monarch.

What about Joan of Arc?  She was betrayed by the people that she was helping.  If she had continued on, would she have ended up changing the whole direction of France?  She might have eventually become queen or some kind of dictator.  We might be speaking French today.

What if Santa Anna had not won the battle of the Alamo?  How would that have changed the direction of Texas and thus the United States if they had managed to stay alive?  Would I still be in California?  Would my grandmother have moved west?

Of course they’re the unknowns.  How many potential world changers have been destroyed by the forceps of the abortionist.  How many Beethoven’s, Einstein’s, Salk’s, Washington’s?  Make your own list.  Put your name on it.  It will give you something to think about on a cold night.

Opus 2026-023: Should-a-Beenms: Why Didn’t He?

In reading the creation story and the fall there are a lot of questions that come up.  When you fold in the later mention of angels, it increases the number of questions.  When we get to heaven with our unhindered minds and our unpolluted attitudes, I think that a lot of of those questions will either fade away as silly or be answered with our new insight.  At the same time because we have a freeing of our intellectual prowess, there will be questions that will pop up that would have never occurred to us now.

One of the attributes we believe belongs to God is omniscience.  He knows all the things that there are to be known, and we define what can be known based on his ability to know, not on ours.  With that in mind, let’s move to the third chapter of Genesis, where the serpent is tempting Eve, and talking her into disobeying God.  Could God not have stepped in and smack down the serpent before the damage was done?  My short answer would be, of course He could, but the fact remains that He didn’t.  Why?

I could come up with all kinds of irrational explanations about priorities and maturity and free will.  I don’t know that any of them would answer the question.  For reasons that we do not understand, God allowed Eve to listen to the corrupting logic of the serpent.  He allowed her to reach out and pick the fruit from the tree.  He allowed her to take a bite.  If we had been writing the story, we might’ve had Him suddenly appear and smack it out of her hand.  No such deliverance was provided.

That should tell us something about the way God deals with us.  There will be times when either through the overwhelming pressure of the Holy Spirit or the physical intervention of a guardian angel, God will keep us from disaster.  Other times He will let our tires go flat , and the virus invade our bodies.  Many of these situations are not even things that we would know to pray about ahead of time.

Ultimately God has given us the ability to choose.  He has given us the knowledge that we need to make those decisions.  Eve did not sin out of ignorance.  She knew what God said.  But the seductive power of wanting to be as God overwhelmed any common sense that there may have been.

Let God be God.  You wouldn’t really want that job anyway.

Opus 2025-502: Lost Books of the Old Testament

No I’m not aware of any lost books that I really need to read.  I do have a volume that is labeled Lost Books of the Bible.  It’s mainly things that were written long after the death of Jesus and the death of the apostles.  The church knew they were not to be included, but liked to read them I guess for entertainment or possible insights.  It is possible to get inspiration from books not in the Bible, but we need to be careful not to consider them as containing genuine truth.

That having been said, there are certain books that I wish I had that I know were never written.

The first book that I wish I had would be The Memoirs of Adam and Eve.  Wouldn’t it be great if they could have written out some of the conversations they had with God as they walked in the garden before the fall.  There was no gossip to be had.  I doubt if they talked about the weather because it was always perfect.  Politics was not on the agenda.  Was God giving them instructions on how to fertilize the vegetables or to graft new types of apples onto the trees?  Was He talking about deep hidden truths that we don’t have any clue about?  I think it would be interesting to know.

Or how about the conversations that had to go on between Moses and God.  A lot of it probably would be Moses complaining about the children of Israel.  We know that eventually Moses had to talk God out of destroying them, but I’m guessing that there were probably times when the conversation with the other way.  There were probably times when God pointed out their positive points.  There could have also been in-depth discussions about the meanings of the law.  God might have given him some insight on where they were going, and what that was going to happen in the future.  I somehow believe that there is more that went on between God and Moses than what we have recorded.  Perhaps when we get to the great library of eternity, we will be able to look at some of those.

What about Jesus when He went a way to pray to His Father?  What kind of incredible insights would we have received if we could hear Him communicating?  I for one would like to have an insight into what that kind of communication was like.  We have the Lord’s prayer, true, but wouldn’t it be awesome to have more in-depth samples of what it means to really come before the Father?

I might like a book of sermons that Paul had preached at different times or perhaps some of his lecture notes for when he went into new churches.  We have reference to at least one other letter to the Corinthians and I have to believe that Paul did more writing than we have passed down to us.  God, in His wisdom chose which ones we would receive and which ones we wouldn’t.  That’s part of the inspiration of scripture.  The Holy Spirit has preserved and interpreted what we have for generations.  But wouldn’t it be nice to have even more?

I don’t expect these books to show up in this life.  If they did, I wouldn’t accept them because I would figure they were written by some screenwriter for a Hollywood movie.  God has given us what we need.  We’re not even following what we know to follow so why would we need more.

But someday…

Opus 2024-323: Should-a-Beens: Where Kity, Kity

You have all probably seen the advertisements where the elderly lady has fallen and is calling out for help saying that she can’t get up.  I’ve been told that this can be a real problem not just an advertising gimmick.  When your bones crumble and your hip falls apart while you’re walking across the room there’s nothing you can do about it, but try to get help.  It can be real

There is though a danger out there that I think is overlooked and often ignored.  That is the danger of cats.  When my wife was gone for two weeks and I was responsible for the cat it started following me around as if it really cared.  In reality it wanted food.  It would sneak up on me and lay down in my path.  It would go between my feet as I was walking.  I don’t know how many times I almost fell because of this animal.

I am going to suggest an innovation or a modification to this item the companies are trying to sell so that seniors won’t fall and be left helpless.  You can call it cat radar or feline flasher.  You can call it whatever you want.  But it needs to have some kind of a sensor that lets you know when a cat is in the proximity and maybe increase in volume as the cat gets closer.  There might even be some AI thing which would sense when the cat had evil motives, and give it a blast of noise to scare it away.

The possibilities are endless. Remember you heard it here first.

I would love to see God herd cats.  He could read what they have for minds and anticipate every movement.  He could have a half-dozen whips for each cat and know just where to snap it.

He could do it.

I think He does.  It is probably a good illustration of how He both holds the universe together, listens to all our prays and works out His master plan.  I have no idea what that is like but He does it anyway.  Last time I checked He did not need my advice or approval.

You should find that comforting.

Opus 2023-178: Should-a-Beens: Sorry, Girls

My heart goes out to all those poor women who did not marry me.  I hope their plans to marry Prince Charming worked out.  They might have been happier if they had taken Old Faithful.

In college as we sat around commiserating that we did not have a date for the week-end, or any other part of the week, we created two badges of achievement.  One was the NGB medal and the other was the Brown Helmet award.

The NGB stood for Nice Guy, But....  If you are a prince charming you never had a chance for this one.  It is what would eventually come out when we were talking to a young lady we considered a prospect.  My opinion is that nice guys made better soul mates, but what do I know.

As for the Brown Helmet, that was often awarded to the guy who thought he was making progress our would not settle for the NGB competition.  I will leave it to your imagination to decipher the imagery.

For those of you who missed your chance, all I can say is, “Sorry girls, I am already taken.”  After 48 years if anything should change I want you to know that I do bear a grudge.

I am not sure my wife would agree with this.

Opus 2023-135: Should-a-Beens: Killer Vines

I was thinking about Proverbs 31 where it talks about the perfect wife buying a field and planting a vineyard.  My thoughts went to world hunger.

How did I go from a vineyard to world hunger?  The same way that the green vegans go from a field of corn to people starving to death.  The corn is used to feed and fatten cattle instead of feeding people.  Thus, meat eaters are keeping food from the hungry of the world.  Because of that, eating meat is evil and should be done away with.

Why don’t we hear that argument for vineyards?  How many acres are tied up in producing wine and other alcoholic beverages?  Granted, it might be the best use of some marginal land but are you telling me that there is nothing edible that could be grown instead of grapes?  If you have to grow grapes then turn them into raisins instead of intoxicants.  Wine drinkers of the world are starving the poor and needy.  Plow the vines under.  Plant okra or kale.  Maybe focus on bean sprouts.  Drinking is evil and must be done away with.

I guess I have too much leisure time.

Opus 2023-134: Should-a-Beens: Walls

I have a suggestion for the next congressional bill to raise the debt ceiling.  Walls.

I don’t mean walls on the borders.  What I am looking for is walls around any city over a certain size, say 500,000.  I am rigid on the walls but willing to adjust the number down.

I think that they could sneak it into the small print when the bill is in the resolution process, or does it not do that for budgets?  It would be a way of playing the game by their rules, pass the bill to find out what is in it.

Construction should start immediately, starting with the city which meets a formula of population and geographic size.  The more condensed, the higher on the list.  It would also require funding for another government police force on the lines of TSA.  It could be paid for by a graduated tax like we all pay.  The bigger the city, the higher the tax, with small towns getting a welfare subsidy paid for out of the pockets of the megopolices.

It is an idea whose time has come.

Opus 2022-093: Should-a-Beens: Biden in History

Where would we be today if Joe Biden had been president in 1939?  As low as my opinion is of FDR, he had the leadership to move the country forward to confront the Germans and Japanese.

There were similarities.  Both men had administrations that were totally infiltrated by the forces of communism.  Both were totally blind to that threat.  Both had control issues.  The difference is that Roosevelt moved the country toward confronting the threats while Joe seems to just want more ice cream.

What is strange is that Biden, in his incompetence, seems to be succeeding in bring down America where Roosevelt just made us stronger.  The difference may be that the citizens have lost the sense of what it is to be American.

We can’t blame it all on our leaders.

Speak up and take a stand if you have an opportunity.  Time is running out.

Opus 2022-044: Should-a-Beens: Assumptions

An informed citizen can give you the essence of the First and Second Amendments.  Let me share them again for your reading pleasure:

1st Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

                                                                       2nd Amendment

A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

If I had my way I would add one, stated clearly, that is spelled out in bits and pieces through the rest of the document:  Freedom of movement.

We enjoy this already and we take it for granted.  I was thinking about this on a road trip.  I crossed three borders the first day and expected to cross three more the next.  At no time was I expected to produce any documentation to prove I had the right to be moving.

The Freedom of Movement has always been with us under the Constitution.  It was made meaningful by Henry Ford when he introduced a gas power motor vehicle produced within the financial reach of the general population.  The automobile is a symbol of freedom as much as firearms.  That is why the elites want to do away with the internal combustion engine.  It is what makes is so easy for people who find themselves subjects in blue states to move to red states so they can be citizens again.

Cherish this freedom.  It allows you to vote with your feet when you live in a blue locale that makes your ballot vote meaningless.  It allows you to live in a safe neighborhood and work in an area you would not want to visit after dark.  It may eventually make it possible to outdistance the zombie hoards.

Opus 2022-019: Should-a-Beens: Renaming California

I am thinking that we need to rename the once golden state of California.  I am going to suggest “Coventry”.  This idea is presented by Robert Heinlein in a story of the same name.  If you have never read it you can find the entire text at Metallicman.

The basic thesis is that anyone convicted of a crime is sent to a place where they are free to live with nothing to guide them but their own desires and abilities.  That place is called Coventry.  It has been a long time since I read the story, I stopped reading Heinlein when he started pushing incest, so I will speak from memory.

Coventry is an area surrounded by an wall that cannot be breached and rigorously guarded.  There is only one gate but a lot of places where guards can dispatch anyone who tries to break out.  When you are ushered in the gate you are able to take any weapons or devices you want.  I assume that nuclear missiles were not allowed.  You were given a date on which you would be allowed to exit if you showed up at the gate.  Any other time that you came to the gate would be your last day for anything.

I am suggesting that we do that with California.  They have already declared that they want nothing to do with a republic that allows the liberties listed in the Bill of Rights.  They keep exporting their foolishness to the rest of us.  Let them have their way but make them keep it to themselves.

For Coventry there would be some immediate results.  Their electricity would soon go away because they don’t generate enough to run their A/C and Telsas and when the wall went up they would either be cut off from outside sources of forced to pay in gold for any imported.  The same would be for water and food.  They would soon run out of gold.

There would be long range results.  After the killing fields bring the population down to livable levels the war lords would institute all kinds of things from the past.  Slavery comes to mind as a possibility.

There would only be one gate.  I would suggest the desert to the west of Las Vegas.  The civilized, liberty loving Americans would escort all the miscreants that want to rule us without our consent to that gate and turn them loose.  I would suggest that we start by getting an agreement with the military to look the other way and round up all the people who have been working for the alphabet agencies and take them into custody.  It should not be too hard to separate the wheat from the chaff as they are gathered up.  They could be given different times to consider the errors of their ways in Coventry.  After we are done with them we could develop a committee to investigate the rulings of our judges.  This would be easy in some cases.  Check their bank accounts and such and find out who was bought off to rule a certain way.  Line up their decisions on one side with a copy of the Constitution on the other and see if they should stay in the land of the free and the home of the brave.  The hard cases would be those areas where they were within the letter of the law but ignored the spirit.  These we could treat with mercy.  The example of their despicable colleagues would be enough.

The beauty of this system would be that there is no capital punishment involved and you would require a much smaller budget to maintain it.

It will never happen but a man can dream, can’t he.

Opus 2021-327: Should-a-Beens: Business Opportunity

I sense a market developing.

The thought was stimulated by a phrase in a post on Free North Carolina.  They were quoting a site called Your News.  The phrase in the spotlight is,

“Ivermectin tablets are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat humans with intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis, two conditions caused by parasitic worms. Some topical forms of ivermectin are approved to treat external parasites like head lice and for skin conditions such as rosacea. The drug is also approved for use on animals.”
This is not new information.  This is common knowledge.  At the same time we are also aware that the Proregressives* in the government and media are trying to make this an illegal drug to treat the China Virus.  Why?  Because it works and it does not make the drug companies a lot of money.

I have an opportunity to suggest to some enterprising entrepreneur.  Start marketing parasitic worms.  Make them freely available and offer them to people wishing to waylay their fears of this terrible, slightly worse than flu, virus.  They could ingest the worms, see their doctor, get a prescription and kill two worms with one stone.  I image you might also do a search on how to come in contact with such worms if you are into the natural approach to medicine.

I am not a doctor.  I am not a lawyer.  I am also not a liberal.  This information is offered for entertainment value, not as legal advice.  That is also important information for liberals since they have no sense of humor.

I don’t know if Trump will be willing to run again in 2024.  If he does I assume I will support him.  But what if he decides that enough is enough?  I think the same plan could be applied no matter who is the next Republican president.  We have a lot of great possibilities if Trump doesn’t go for it.  I can just see him sitting behind a desk, calling in the political appointees one by one and saying, “You’re fired.”

Wherever he starts he can work his way down the list of agencies and cabinet posts that could do with a bit of clean up.  Some might only need the pus drained so they can heal.  Others need to be totally eliminated, such as the Department of Education.  If the swamp went nuts over him as president just imagine what this would do to their diapers.

Then the mantra could be Make America Greater Again.  Maybe he should start a line of Trump diapers in politician sizes.

Opus 2021-157: Headlines: Zoning, part 3 of 3, My Fantasy

The Biden administration, and whomever is actually running it, have a scenario and a plan.  They want to turn the entire country into one, door-to-door inner city, except for the places they live, of course.

I also have a scenario and a plan.

Public housing will be built.  Eventually they will have their way and big, ugly concrete structures will be just down the street from you.  If it follows the usual pattern those buildings will rapidly degenerate into a war zone.  Since these prefab ghettos have been usually built in the “bad” part of town, the violence kept building.  The area became unmanageable.  There have been a few cases where the residents who were law abiding banded together, armed themselves and brought peace to the project but that does not play into the Proregressive* narrative of being dependent on government.  It is slapped down when possible.  Remember they control the courts and big city governments.

Here is where my dreaming starts to venture into fantasy land.  Suppose this happens in the middle of a generally law abiding area.  Eventually the citizens find a way to clean out the pestilence.  This can be through strong local government action involving the police and courts, but the deck is stacked against that.  So I would say that eventually vigilantes will arise and clean out the infestation.  Gang bangers tend to be cowards at heart.  Their motto is “watch your back”.  Can you picture John Wayne using that line?  When they realize that people are going to throw aside fear and deal with their violence with violence they will move on to a community that meets their needs.

You now have a large bunch of huge apartment buildings with very few people living in them.  One possible outcome is that the hard working people from the inner city will find a refuge.  If that happens, well and good.  They will fit in nicely with people in the suburbs.  I think this is unlikely.  It will be more a bunch of empty buildings.

Enter the entrepreneurs.

Investors will buy up the buildings dirt cheap.  They will hire some first class architects and engineers, remodel, renovate and you have some high price condos now coming on the market.  Since they will sell for high prices then the tax base is increased and it becomes a win/win.

I can’t wait.  Of course you then have the problem of tofu and bean sprout pollution but that is for another day.  I am not sure that having Karen live next door is better than MS-13.

Maybe this qualifies as a Should-a-Been rather than a headline.

Opus 2021-136: Should-a-Beens: Court Packing

I have heard from two lawyers with integrity endorsements that the packing of the Supreme Court is not going to happen.  In their eyes it is just a ploy to distract the peasants while they pass all the other damage to destroy the republic.  We will see if they are worthy prophets.

How worried should we be if it does pass?  I got to thinking about a Proregressive* dream team for the last court of appeal.

Let’s start with Barak Hussein Obama.  You know it would happen.  He is the man who was so blessed that he could go around the Constitution with executive orders.  I think his words were something to the effect that if congress wouldn’t do what he wanted done then he would do it himself.  Just imagine what he could do to improve the world from the bench.

Then of course we would need to have Hillary.  It is possible she might be too old but age discrimination is unconstitutional.  Imagine what would happen to the view of ethics in this country if she were appointed.

That is two.  We need two more.  How about a Shiff/AOC tag team?  You think people are starting to laugh at the Supremes now, just think how it would go if these two were wearing the black robes.  It might make it worth televising hearings and billing it as reality TV.

I am sure we could come up with a lot more from Nadler to Beto.

God help us.

Maybe it is already happening and we don’t know it.  Could the next style craze walking the runway in Paris be called Zoom Classic?  Picture pajama bottoms with a coat and matching tie.  The big question for the trend setters might be, “Briefs or boxers?”  It brings new meaning to “business casual”.

There are things that they say once you see, you cannot unsee.  This fits in that category.  I am also wondering, if you reviewed the pictures we have seen of some of the biological male models and what they wear with a straight face, I am not sure we would notice if Zoom Casual becomes a thing.  And if you look at the total chaos and lack of style that is common in our public places I am not sure it would not be an improvement.

Come on, admit it, bell bottoms weren’t that bad.

Opus 2021-080: Should-a-Beens: Joe, Please Call Home

Where is Senator McCarthy when we need him?

I do not personally have a memory of Senator Joe McCarthy.  I do remember that when I heard his name I got the impression he was one step to the right of the devil.  I was told he was an evil man who was out to ruin everyone’s life by labeling them “Communist” and harassing the victims into suicide.  I have never studied his actions in great detail but after I read Witness by Whittaker Chambers, I realized that the people he was after were everywhere and were out to destroy our country.  Communists and Communism is our enemy.

I have weird ideas like that.  I served in the Vietnam War.  I didn’t enlist, I was drafted.  I believed then and still believe that we needed to be there.  See what I mean by strange ideas.  I also believe that the Domino Theory was accurate.  We were there to keep Communism from spreading into the rest of Southeast Asia and then to our back yard.  I also believe that the war was won until the Democrats in congress cut off support for the South Vietnamese government.  They were standing up to the North on their own until we stopped sending them bullets.  My only mistake was that I didn’t realize that the Communists had already arrived and were preparing the United States for what we are seeing today.

Communism, Marxism, Fascism, Socialism, you can get into endless debates about the exact differences.  All are represented in the Progressives* of today.  They are all economic and political systems which hate people being free to make their own decisions.  They all are out to do away with out liberty, destroy Christianity and get us dancing to their tune.  Their lackeys are found in the social media empires that are choking off free expression, the media puppets that only publish what advances the tyranny of the left, government employees who are trying to vilify and jail anyone who disagrees with them.

What we need is another Joe, not a Biden but a McCarthy, who will stand tall and take on the criminals on the left.  Whoever that hero is will be destroyed in the process but we need him, or her, now.  We need him more than ever.

Step forward, Joe.
