When I hear the daily updates on what’s happening with the news I am struck by all of the nut jobs that are out looking for unarmed victims that they can attack. At times like that I am really glad that I live in Texas. That is no guarantee that the nut job won’t come for us, but it certainly makes him think twice.
I don’t know why people don’t understand that terrorist people who are mentally disturbed because of the drugs that have been pumped into them, antifa, and extreme Democrats (but I repeat myself) are looking for the weak targets because in their hearts, they know they’re cowards.
I hope I never have to be faced by the real potential of violence. I try to be prepared. At the same time, these killers are always looking for soft targets.
I tried to avoid visiting soft targets. I don’t think our church is a soft target. There might be some fool that thinks it is, but he will be in for a rude awakening, I think. I avoid stores that have the signs on the front saying that you can’t bring firearms inside. I’m sure that the terrorists will honor that wish of the owner of the business. Most medical facilities ban firearms. I go in with trepidation. It’s bad enough that I have to put up with the medical profession playing games with my life. To add to the danger by allowing only terrorist to come in armed is not something I enjoy.
Pray before anything happens. Stay alert. Go on with life. Don’t surrender to the attempt to destroy our freedom of movment and assembly. Even if something happens, with 350,000,000 people in the country the odds of it happening near you are slim.

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

What do the TSA and terrorism have in common?
I have made several pilgrimages to visit in Reno. It is a good time of fellowship and discussion. I’m thinking about how I don’t want to fly. The hassles of the TSA and government regulation in general have made that unpleasant. I don’t want to drive. It is a long journey and as much as I like to drive I shudder at the cost. What about a train?
Consider how the elites are trying to take away our mobility. They do not want us free to move around at will. Regulations, check points, the extra cost generated by government demands, all go to discourage us from leaving our designated space. That is why they are working on getting us out of our automobiles. People are much easier to control and monitor if they are forced to walk or dependent on public transport. Traffic jams also remove the joy and make a commute to work detrimental to our options. Add that to making flying so unpleasant that many of us don’t want to do it.
The terrorist have the same goal. They want us to change our lifestyle and cut out things which make it worth living such as mobility, which gives us a great deal of variety in life. They want us to change our habits by avoiding places where people congregate. They want to make us afraid to go to church. They make shopping malls targets. They riot in the streets.
One of the questions I keep hearing is, “What can I do about it?” The frustration is that no one in Washington is listening. True, but it is not congress that makes you stay at home instead of going to the swap meet. It is your own fear. What can we do? Keep on living our lives. Terrorists and government elites want to get you to change the way you live your lives. One of the things you can do is keep living like Americans.
Get out there and celebrate the liberty we have left.

Opus 2026-009: Asymmetrical Is a Two-Way Street
We like to come up with fancy names for things. Today we talk about asymmetrical warfare. Before the scholars got involved, we tended to call it terrorism. If you go back in history to say, Vietnam, it was guerrilla warfare. Go back to the American Revolution. I’m not sure what the term was, but the British were very offended. Americans would hide behind trees and shoot at them standing in their nice even red lines.
Anyway, you look at it this type of warfare is not considered fair by the side that it is being used against. Of course the side that is doing the sneaky attacks says that it’s their only hope because they are so weak compared to their adversaries. They are only seeking justice and liberty. That’s the basic logic. The Americans and the American revolution felt justified in shooting from behind trees because they were the weak ones. The British had the premier army of the world and they were just a bunch of colonist. If you go to Vietnam, Vietnamese from the north said they were just a small country fighting the American military might. Therefore it was OK to attack in the middle of the night, to violate the truce, to stab people in the back and kill civilians who would not cooperate. The terrorists use the same type of logic.
Now let’s go to the modern Middle East. You have Israel. You have 57 Muslim countries. Now I will admit that they all are not in the Middle East, but they certainly have connections which would send their midnight warriors in that direction. The logic of the terrorist is that they are too weak to fight the mighty Israel machine. Really? I’m not sure what the population numbers are, but the Jews are outnumbered probably 100 to one by the Muslims. I think back to when Cortez defeated the Aztecs. Aztecs had I believe about 1 million warriors and Cortez had about 600. Aztec could have smothered them to death if they had simply gotten down to it. Instead, they were subjugated and turned into slaves.
If the Muslims were serious about destroying Israel, and had the courage and the commitment, they could simply smother it in human wave attacks with no weapons except their wives cast-iron frying pans. If you look at the history of wars between Israel and the nations around them, in every case, they have been severely outnumbered. In every case, the Arab armies have had modern weapons and the training offered by such places as Soviet Union. They could not win in a stand up, look you in the eye, war. The answer to that problem is, stab you in the back when you’re not looking.
Based on the numbers, it should be the Israel army that is using terrorism and suicide bombers. But then this has never been about facts and reality it’s about ideology and hatred.

Opus 2025-611: Babies, Babes, and Bonking
The Muslims tried to conquer Europe with their armies as late as the 17th century. They failed. Today they are slowly overcoming the continent with a combination of three things. First of all, you have massive waves of immigration by people who have no intention of assimilation. We can see how that’s going. Secondly, those waves force their will upon the resident population with fear and violence. It wasn’t organized armies, and it was done in collusion with the local governments. The third is that they have a lot of babies. Of these three the third is probably the strongest and most permanent wave.
Part of the package is the terrorism with the use of suicide bombers. We’ve all seen pictures of children dressed up as suicide bombers like we might have our children dress up like Cowboys. The kids thought it was fun. I can understand that. What I can’t understand is the attitude of parents, especially mothers, to sending their children off to be blown up like this. There is a mindset in Muslim women that is beyond comprehension to those of us in the Christian West.
We see a lot of pictures of the mourning and wailing women after an Israeli air strike. They love to bring out pictures of children being blown up by these dirty nasty Jews. We see them crying out in agony. I would submit that we should not be feeling sympathetic towards them in their loss because the loss is on their heads. I’m not condoning killing children or bombing civilians. What I’m submitting is that these are not civilians.
The women of Islam could stop the slaughter of their children very simply. They may be women. They may be physically weak. They may be downtrodden by the second class status they have in Islam. They also have cast-iron frying pans.

Yes, frying pans.
One of the statistics that I find interesting in the United States is that in spite of what everybody thinks, more men are abused by women, then women by men. We don’t know this in official statistics because men don’t like to admit that they’ve been beat up by their wives and girlfriends. How does this happen? Well, my understanding is that a man has to sleep sometime. When a man is asleep, it doesn’t matter really how big his muscles are. When an angry woman has a cast-iron frying pan in her hand, carefully planned it doesn’t matter how weak she is, she can get her revenge.
So if the women of Islam wanted to end the killing of their children all they would need to do is decide to take justice into their own hands and apply the back of their frying pan to the head of the sleeping man who sent their children off to die. It’s not going to happen so don’t get your dignity out of the bag. I understand that. But when you have a culture of death where everyone is participating and the only target of your death is Jews then it may be the only solution will be self-inflicted.
So babes, if your babies are getting blown up, consider bonking.

Opus 2025-003: Click Bait: Reading Between the Lines
My wife called me in to share with me the latest Clickbait on a video she was watching on YouTube. Yes, I sat down and looked at the headline for the Clickbait. Several things became obvious, at least to me. And I think probably they will be obvious to you.
The first thing was that another car had driven itself into a crowd of people killing 10. Tesla should be ashamed of itself. All of these self driving vehicles that are running people down in the headlines. Now I would not have originally noticed this but I’ve seen others pointing this out time and again. The headlines ignore who was driving the car. Small point, I know. They simply say that the car kill people. The logical conclusion is that Elon Musk is guilty. When I say this, I don’t mean the Elon Musk who is an African-American, but the Elon musk who seems to be suffering from white privilege.
The second thing that I can gain from the headline is that the driver of this vehicle, if you will excuse the assumption that it had a driver, was either a native born minority ethnic group, or a foreign-born terrorist. You know this because if the driver was the pastor of a local, all white, Baptist Church, all of those details would’ve been part of the headline.
I don’t really need to watch the video. If it were in print, I wouldn’t need to read the article. I know everything that there is that I will find to be true. Some America hater once again tries to disrupt our society by making people afraid to go out in large groups.
Unfortunately, it seems to be working at times.

Opus 2024-333: It’s All in the Programming
After the fiasco with the pagers and cell phones, I think that the Iranians probably should be worried about somebody monkeying with the software in their ballistic missiles. What would happen if after launching, and reaching a certain point in their flight path the instructions to the guidance computer suddenly told the ballistic missile to turn around and return to base. A well designed missle would allow the home base to force it to self destruct. A clever hacker would have disabled that curcuit.
Let’s see if Israel can come up with this one on their own. I know that if I were Iran I would have some questions. Israel would like to supply the answers.

Opus 2024-146: Warsaw Lessons
I was reading today an article about some of the Jew hatred going on in the city of New York. I got to thinking about how Hitler rounded up the Jews in Germany and Poland. One of the things that he did before rounding them up was to disarm them.
I am guessing that most of the atrocities that we are seeing today filled with hatred towards Jews are taking place in areas where guns are banned. New York is obvious. Most of the other variant examples of hatred are on college campuses, which also tend to ban guns. Once again, American Jews are following the path of their European Brothers. They are living in areas where they cannot defend themselves. They do nothing in order to try and defend themselves. It may be that they forgot the lesson of the Warsaw ghetto. In that place a small group of Jews withstood the might of the German army because they fought back. This is probably a bit of a stretch, but I would say that those poorly armed Jews in Warsaw withstood the Wehrmacht better than the nation of France.
Is Jew hatred on the rise? Yes. Will we see more of this? Yes. Is there an antidote? Again, yes. It won’t even require violence, at least not much violence. Keep in mind that terrorist, and their cronies tend to be cowards. What is one of the big statements of the gangsta groups, “You better watch your back”. In other words, they are afraid to face your face. You might hurt them. All that will be necessary to stop a lot of this nonsense is to convince them that there might be some genuine repercussions coming their way. If the courts won’t do it, then the citizens must.
The magic of firearms is that they often don’t have to be used in order to be effective. A hammer in the hardware store will not fix the siding on your house. A screwdriver in the warehouse will tighten your loose doornobs. However, a revolver in the drawer will discouraged thugs from coming in your front door.

If you’ve been following the news, you have heard about the cargo ship which ran into the bridge. I have not been following all the details but I have been listening to my wife go ballistic about it.
I think we all need to have a good time discussing it, but we need to beware that we don’t go into bunker mentality based on this. We need to keep going about our lives and doing our business. We need to be careful not to become so afraid that we change how we live our lives.
Part of the plan of terrorism is to change peoples behavior in such a way that their lives become one of fear and intimidation. We are Americans. Many of us are Christians. Not only do we live in the greatest country in history, but we serve the only true God. Keep living your life. Enjoy your freedom. Trust in the principles of our country and trust in the grace of our Lord.
Don’t hide in your garage because someone ran a ship into a bridge.

Opus 2023-243: Prophet’s Hat: A Window into the Future
The world is watching Israel. Some are looking on with horror. Some are dancing in the streets. I am going to recommend that we all clean our guns and keep them handy. This attack on Israel could simply be a dry run on what we can expect in the United States.
Can you say illegal aliens? Can you say predominately young men? Can you say where are they? I don’t know what details to believe but there seems to be a consensus that our southern border is being flooded with large numbers of invaders. In the past it was assumed that they came looking for economic windfalls. We don’t see them at work. They must be somewhere.
One speculation is that they are being brought in to swell the ranks of Democratic voters. You may have seen the Babylon Bee piece that said the National Guard was being sent to the border to register people to vote. Being the Babylon Bee, it was prophetic satire based on knowledge of how things work, not of facts.
A more sinister explanation is that they are the army Biden’s handlers are bringing in to start an insurrection. Since the deplorables have not risen to the bait the Democrat overlords probably figure they are going to need to prime the pump, so you import a ready made army. Can you picture what would happen if we suddenly had pickup loads of Socialist soldiers riding around firing fully automatic weapons at anything that moved. You get an early look by watching what is happening in Israel. Of course the picture you would see in NYC would be totally different than in Dallas.
I thought the citizens of Israel were well armed. Why is no one shooting back? If they bring it home to America will we be better armed and prepared or run screaming to General Milley to save us?

I thought the citizens of Israel were well armed but it looks like an illusion. I did not watch many of the camera shots but in the one I did watch someone was on a balcony recording a pickup load of terrorists in their ninja wannabe outfits shooting all over the place. No one seemed to be returning fire. In true millennial fashion they were risking their lives to be it to post to the internet.
I wonder if the murdering thugs had done a study to figure out where the gun free zones might be. I didn’t think Israel had such place but it looks like I was wrong.
It may be time for you to consider how to shoot back if all you have is an I-Phone.

Opus 2022-172: Headlines: What’s for Dinner?
One of the headlines a few days ago was about a Norwegian feminist who has been threatened with jail for saying men can’t be lesbians. We have also been hearing about some liberal who retweeted a joke that was off-color, but even worse was not politically correct and approved by the commissars. He has been put on leave for a month without pay if my memory serves me correctly. Then another liberal who made a fuss because he was not punished enough was fired. What we are seeing is the left eating its own.
This is just the beginning. If you have read anything about the Russian Revolution and the take over of the Bolsheviks then you have read about how they had waves of executions. They killed a lot of peasants and people who were standing on the wrong corner when they needed to arrest someone but they also made it a habit of executing last week’s heros. It is what they do. As the disciples of Stalin strengthen their grip on American culture you can expect to see more of it.
Before you get to excited remember that the Norwegian is just an hors d’oeuvre. The hack journalists are just side dishes. We are the main course. Keep in mind that they will be coming for us. They don’t really care if anyone is guilty of anything or not. They don’t have a quota in mind. The purpose of it will be political terrorism. They want to cripple us with fear. They want to condition us to be always looking over our shoulder or going for a walk in the park if we want to talk politics.
If you are a Christian then start reminding yourself that you are on God’s side. Usually He will shelter us from the worst but when He allows us to suffer He will also be there to hold us up. If you are not a believer then look deep down inside and find a foundation you can stand on when the going gets tough. It may be something like a belief in the rule of law or the Constitution. It could be family. It needs to be something worth suffering for and even dying for.
Stand tall and speak up. Vote and pray. If all you can do is think good thoughts, then think good thoughts.

Opus 2021-263: Headlines: The Dangers of “Over the River and Through the Woods...”
I heard about the 14 students from the San Diego area that were stuck in Afghanistan and then I heard that they had made it out. I was a bit mystified when my wife told me there were 30 students still stuck in the land of the Taliban. Something was not adding up. Today I saw some click bait that referred to the 30 students so I decided to fall for it.
The headline at Legal Insurrection clarified some of the mystery.
“Almost 30 Students From Sacramento Remain Trapped in Afghanistan”This was a different group of students. As I kept reading I found that they were not your typical group of students.
“With about 1,400 students of Afghan origin within the district, Bassanelli said it’s normal for these students to go visit their home country every summer.”Okay. It seems that we already have a large group of emigrants who have settled in the Sacramento area. A bunch of them decided to go home to visit granny. Since they are public school inmates they probably paid no attention to what was going on in the world around them and are now finding it hard to get a ride home. Or not.
Then we have this,
“‘We realized that we had about 144 students of Afghan origin who were not presently in our schools but yet enrolled,” Bassanelli explained…’”It seems there are 144 students unaccounted for, not just 30. Since I taught in Southern California I am used to the idea of large blocks of students going home to Mexico for the Christmas/New Years holidays. It is an annual event. You learn to roll with it and never did we blame the President of the United States for their absence. I would wonder how they know that 30 are in Afghanistan. Is that an actual count or a reasonable guess? From the information that we seem to be given it sounds to me like they are spread all over the country with relatives. That means they may be in no danger, or at least no more danger than anyone is that cesspool of violence is facing.
I think this is a lot of hysteria about what may be no problem. I grant it might be. It is possible that they will be used as hostages or the targets of political murder. It is hard to tell at this point. It is also a bit late to say, “What were they thinking?” There biggest sin is that they believed what the Biden administration was telling them about conditions in Afghanistan.
In any event I don’t think this is any reason to be sending in the troops. These may be American citizens because they were born here after their parents arrived or they may have actually been born in Afghanistan. Either way I doubt if their hearts are in America and their values are rooted in the Constitution. I wish for them the same safety I would wish for any other human being.

Opus 2021-180: Headlines: IDF Plays Gotcha
If you want a bit of gratifying reading check out the report in the New York Post that implies that the Israeli Defense Force was less than transparent with the media. Can you imagine that? It appears that they sent out several tweets and the one in English seemed to say that Israeli troops were on the ground in Gaza. It turns out that there were no ground troops who had crossed. As they saying goes, “My bad!”
“So what?” you say. When the international media picked up on the tweet and started broadcasting it to the world the Terrorists said to themselves, “Let’s get a little surprise ready for them.” With the generous, and I am sure unintentional, warning given by the media the Hamas militants filled the tunnels through the area and waited to come up behind the Israeli troops. They were all excited because they would be able to have a bloodbath of Jewish blood.
What happened? At first, nothing. When no Jewish soldiers showed up the Hamas gunners got bored and came out into the street saying, “What’s up?” Of course they said it in Arabic, but you get the point. At that time the Israeli jets arrived to show them what was up. It was a bloodbath but not with Jewish blood. The Palestinians cried, “No fair!” The media also cried, “No fair!”
What settled well in my soul was when the Israeli military apologized to the media for not being clear. They would try to do better next time. The media seemed to feel that this would lower Israel’s prestige in the international media. They would no longer be considered a reliable source. I am sure that will break the IDF’s collective hearts.
The media, in their usual attempts to destroy Israel, were had. It was a beautiful job of using the snakes against themselves. I might point out that it seems the confusion only appeared in the English tweet. That tells you something about our media. Some things brighten your day.

Opus 2020-256: Headlines: A Warning Shot
I was reading a link from Rantingly, a news aggregate site, about a man who fired the first shot in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. It was found at the Gateway Pundit. If you watched the video of the incident there was a muzzle flash off to the side before Rittenhouse did any shooting. It was natural for him to assume that he was being attacked. Evidently the man who fired the shot has been identified and had admitted to firing “a warning shot” into the air.
I am wondering if this is a new pattern we are going to see. You have someone on the fringes who decides to fire his gun at an opportune time to initiate violence and then they walk away. If you are caught, the way this guy was, you face a small charge. Meanwhile you have instigated a riot.
The Marxists in our midst have shown us that they are well trained, well organized and well supplied. They know exactly what they are doing so don’t ever assume that something going on in front of you is a coincidence.

Opus 2020-252: On the Street: Ready When They Are
I have been doing some volunteer work at our county Republican headquarters. In the process of getting donations for signs, T-shirts, masks, flags and whatever else they can come up with I get a chance to talk to some people of character. Since I am by nature a recluse this is a change for me. I can enjoy talking to people, it just is not necessary.
We had an old man of character come in a few days ago. He was barely mobile. First he tried to con me into giving him a hat. Eventually he had his wife spring for it. What was fun was that during the conversation the antisocial behavior of Antifa, which Joe Biden informed us is just an idea, came up. He said they better not mess with his car. At that point he patted his pocket. I assume that meant he was packing. His point was that if they thought they could get away with their rioting in his neighborhood he was ready to debate the issue with them.
He could hardly get around. He had two canes. He had to leave his oxygen in the car. He still wasn’t willing to be messed with.

Opus 2020-237: Never-Never Land
Nineteen years and the “Never” has become an empty promise.
911 changed the game with terrorism. It did so in one day. It did so in a way that was hard to ignore. People are ignoring it anyway. Before September 11 we were used to calling in the negotiators and working out a deal that did not involve a lot of innocent people being murdered. There was no negotiation as the airplanes slammed into the Twin Towers. It was a simple announcement, “You are not hearing us. It wouldn’t matter if you did. We hate you. We will kill you.”
Antifa/BLM has changed the game in political protest. It did not happen in one day. The media has been doing everything they can to cover up the message. The word has been slowly getting out but there are still a lot of people living in denial. They also have a simple message, “We don’t care if you are hearing us. We hate you. We are going to destroy your world and if you get in the way we will destroy you too.” It seems clear.
Both 911 terrorists and Antifa/BLM terrorists are highly trained. They know what they want and are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. One group went out in a flash of glory. The other is going to continue until they run into a wall. One group was sponsored by foreigners and foreign governments. The current terrorists have added one of our major political parties as a sponsor. What is scary is that 47% that Mitt Romney first brought up. We keep seeing them in the statistics. They will mindlessly endorse anything the Democrat Party tells them.
It is going to be a bumpy ride. I hope to see you alive and well on the 20 year anniversary of 911. Next stop, November 3.

Opus 2020-231: Payday Required
I think this kind of thing is only partially about Trump. Yes, they hate him and everything he is trying to do. The only problem with that is they probably could not tell you what he is trying to do. It is more endemic than that. It is about human nature and what Christians call original sin or the carnal nature. There is something built into human nature that tries to get away with things and is only held in check by concern about possible consequences. We have all done things that were technically illegal. Haven’t you ever thrown an apple core out the window as you drove across the desert? Technically it is littering. It is illegal. If there had been a snitch watching you might have restrained yourself. Have you ever parked in a spot reserved for pregnant women? Have you ever gone in the exit or ducked under the ropes forming a line?
Most of us have had an adult pounding a sense of right and wrong into us so we only violate minor issues. The young women involved in these attacks on children with Trump signs were not taught right and wrong as absolute values. They were taught that right is anything you can get away with and the big crime is getting caught. It is one of the reasons why the millennial snowflakes are willing to be a part of insurrection. They are convinced they will not be caught and if by some chance they are, they will be bailed out with no consequence. So far they have been right.
Sin is fun. Evil kind of grows on you. Who has not wanted to throw a rock through a window? Most of us restrain ourselves. The rioters don’t.
Trump is not really the problem. He is the excuse. The violence will continue until the price paid for uncivilized behavior comes due.

Opus 2020-230: Headlines: Civil not Martial
I have friends who want Trump to send in the troops and take back the cities granting riot privileges to Antifa and BLM. I keep telling them that it is not a good idea. When I pointed out that the Progressives* are looking for a “Kent State Moment” they seemed to get the idea.
If you want a good explanation of why sending in the Mounties is not a good idea I would recommend this article from Townhall. I found it in a link from Free North Carolina. It explains the law and the complexity of a military solution. Some I already knew, other points were new to me.
In case you missed it, Trump has shown his creativity. He is deputizing the local police as federal law enforcement. That will mean that the rioters can be arrested and prosecuted in federal courts and get around the catch and release local Democrat imitations of a legal system.

Opus 2020-210: Serious Thoughts
I have a movie memory that I would try to describe. The scene was set in the day of the single shot Kentucky rifle. The bad guy had taken his best shot and missed. At the point the good guy, who was unarmed, started running toward him as fast as he could. His hope was to reach the shooter before he had a chance to reload. It was a dramatic moment that illustrated the point.
As we look at the violence being dumped on us by the Marxists in Antifa and BLM, we also see record gun sales. I have read that 40% were first time buyers and that women also made up 40%. What is interesting is that liberals who used to be anti-gun are also buying. I like the idea that an armed society is a polite society. If the old six gun was a great equalizer then just imagine what a modern pistol with 15 rounds of 9mm could be called.
But there is still a problem. It only works when it is used or the thugs believe it will be used. Just waving a firearm around will work a few times but eventually you will need to pull the trigger. Some people only learn by experiencing pain.
Carrying a firearm is a serious responsibility. Some don’t understand that. Many come down with the Rambo Syndrom. You may have read about the shooting in Austin where a rioter pointed his rifle at a guy sitting in his car. He thought he was hot stuff. He had a rifle. Too bad for him that the guy in the car was an 8 year military veteran, had a handgun and, unlike the Rambo Rioter, knew how to use it.
I hope that I never need to defend my home or family. If it comes, I hope I rise to the occasion. If you have not acquired a means of protection all I can recommend is learning a lot of new swear words.

Nothing came of it until he stepped across the line.
Go to Louisville. The Marxists there are getting into the extortion racket. Disrn reports local businesses are being threatened if they don’t pay off BLM. It reminds me of the mob during prohibition.
So watch your back. Lock your doors. Keep in mind that you being paranoid is healthy when they are out to get you.
