Opus 2026-070: New Terms: Needles

I find recently that I have been using a phrase that I don’t think I’ve frequented before.  I know it’s not original with me.  I don’t know if I heard it somewhere recently, what put it in the front of my mind or whether it just emerged from the murk of my magic eight ball.

The phrase is “move the needle”.  You can express it different ways such as “move your needle”, but the idea is the same.  The concept is that needles on seismograph’s, audio equipment VU meters and such respond to show when there’s a sudden disturbance.  Most of us are stuck somewhere in the middle and our needles just don’t move.  We need a challenge that comes from discomfort or crisis.  It seems that only that will move our needle.

Another way in which the needle moves is demonstrated by the needle of our fuel or our temperature gauge in the car.  They are bound to move.  The question is are we watching to see when we need to do something about it.

So maybe a new phrase might be, “watch your needle”. Or we could say “take care of your needle”.

Life brings change, or it should if we’re still alive.  Pay attention, fill up with gas, have your oil changed, and get on down the road.

Opus 2025-468: New terms: Academic Brain Dysfunction

In my thought journey, I keep coming across people who have certificates on their wall and letters behind their name who think they have the right to pontificate on major issues.  When I go to see my doctor, which I did recently, I choose the doctor not because he has certificates, but because he has impressed me that his mind and his understanding have grown beyond his degrees and his official status.  I go to see him because I feel he is unusual in the field of primary care medicine.  I will continue to work with him as long as he continues to keep thinking.

Other doctors I have been around take the company line, swallow it hole, and spew back the nonsense that they have been told.  They show no evidence of thinking it through themselves.  They show no evidence of reading or paying attention to what’s happening in our society.  This is true in just about every area of study.

I fight this most in the area of my biblical studies and my theology.  The current burr under my saddle in theological terms would have to do with the immutability of God.  Put in simple everyday language, that means that God does not change.  I agree with that statement because the Bible has statements like this,

(Mal 3:6 KJV)  For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

To paraphrase a quote from Princess bride, I keep wanting to say, “I don’t think that word means what you think it means.”  The reason for that is that there are numerous places in the scripture where it talks about God changing his mind.  In the King James that is often built around the word “repent” .  One of the classic lines that proceeds Noah finding grace in the eyes of the Lord is this verse,

Genesis 6:6 (KJV) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Now, I don’t care what your theological persuasion is.  You may be a total atheist.  But when someone repents of something that means they change their mind.  It means they have a different idea than they had before.  It would seem that it is possible for God to have different thoughts.

Is God immutable?  Yes if you understand it in the proper way.  But that does not mean that He is a dead piece of stone.  Several places in scripture God mocks the idols of the pagans.  He talks about them having eyes, but they cannot see; feet, but they cannot walk; mouths but they cannot talk and so forth.  The implication is that He, the living God, can see, walk and talk.  Now when you see things they interact with your neurons and make your brain perceive something that wasn’t there before.  That is literally, change.  I understand that God is not physical so He does not have nurons, but if God is different from the idols because He can see, and He can feel and He can hear, every time He does one of those things He is changing.  So don’t give me this nonsense that God cannot “change”.

I started watching a video by someone who had impressed me once, but has been losing ground ever since and he got off on this idea that God cannot change.  He was taking it all the way to the wall.  His statements were without any kind of waiver or qualification.  He even quoted a famous theologian, one that I had heard of, one that I stopped listening to a long time ago when he declared war on non-Calvinists.  That theologian really got worked up and said that if there is one molecule anywhere in the entire universe, that is a maverick molecule, outside of the total control of God, then all our theology, all of our beliefs, everything about who we are as Christians is meaningless.  Excuse me.  My God is bigger than that.  What if God made that molecule a maverick?

The problem with being an academic is that you think your theories are above the facts.  How someone with many books to his credit, and I’m sure multiple degrees, could declare that everything is void if there is one spec out of place has an undue respect for his own insight.  I would encourage him to stay in his office and write out deep thoughts on sticky notes and post them on his window so that he doesn’t have to look out and see the real world.  I would even encourage for him to make videos and post them.  One of the great things about YouTube is, I don’t have to watch.

I’m sure this rant will continue in other places of the times.  Until then, keep your brain in gear and your Bible open.  It is amazing how well those two concepts work together.

Opus 2025-308: New Terms: Bluicide

Is this  good time to talk about secession?  I am not talking about Alberta.  I am not talking about California.  I am thinking about the blue counties of California.  Maybe it is time to let them go their own way.

Much of California is as sane as real Americans.  They care about their neighbors but plan on staying out of their business.  They go to work, pay their taxes, go to church, pay their taxes, go bowling, pay their taxes...you get the idea.  As a reward the crazies in the blue areas look for loopholes to happiness that they have missed.  We don’t need to say goodby to Riverside County or Shasta but LA does not deserve to be a part of us.

Let them go.

We can built tunnels with guard towers so that they can visit the Utopias they came from but let them go.  We could have testing in schools outside the cities and anyone who passed could be allowed to relocate inside a city.  We could call it bluicide.

Of course we could also just make the voting system honest and deport people who have no right to be here.  We could develop the courage to label treason as treason.  That way we could visit the cultural assets that used to make a visit to the city worthwhile but I would be willing to give up the Rose Bowl for the cause of liberty.

Opus 2024-215: New Terms: Blue Falcon

I have been hearing and reading the term “Blue Falcon”.  I admit I don’t get out much.  That is probably why I had not heard it until recently.  I was seeing it in reference to the Democrat’s VP nominee.  After I looked it up the meaning became clear.  It needs to be broadcast far and wide.

A Blue Falcon is a person who will stab friends in the back, throw them under the bus, gamble with the friends credit card and in general destroy people who trust them.  It is always done for their own benefit.  I am guessing that it also is surrounded with pious platitudes about how “it is for your own good.”

This is a good description of the entire contemporary Democrat agenda and makes Walz the perfect candidate for VP.

Opus 2024-214: New Terms: Influencer

I keep coming across this moniker, “influencer”.  Whom do they influence?  For what reason does anyone listen to them.  Usually the person pictured is too young to have any wisdom and I see no reason to believe they have any knowledge.  

To be honest, I am a skeptic.  Don’t confuse that with being a cynic.  I am willing to listen for a moment at least.  You never know.  Someone might actually have something to say.  The skeptic in me runs a gestalt test on what they say.  Some people might call it a Baloney Meter.  I ask myself, “Does this fit in with the things I know to be true?”  Usually I don’t need to get beyond the click bait.

I am thinking that this word, “influencer”, may be another example of how the elites are trying to rework the language.  I came across this statement on the topic in a John Ringo novel,

“Abby earned credits as something called an ‘influencer,” which, as far as Cade could tell, meant that she photographed cute or weird things with her phone and talked about them.”, p. 137

By this definition, an influencer does not influence.  They entertain and amuse.

We live among people who want quick, easy answers.  I understand there is a relatively new medication for diabetes.  It is in short supply because it also causes weight loss and all the people who don’t have the discipline to cut down on the calories go for the quick fix.  When people go to the doctor they want a pill, not a lecture.  When they go to church that want an entertaining speech that does not upset their day.  These are the masses.  These are the ones who listen to influencers.  

That would not bother me so much but they have the same one vote I have.

Opus 2024-110: New Terms: Neo-Kosher

Down through history, the Jews have often been persecuted because they are healthier.  During the time of the Black Death, you found that the Jews did not die as often as Gentiles.  One of the reasons was that the Jews followed the biblical standards for cleanliness and diet.  Unlike the Gentiles, they washed their hands.  They did not eat questionable foods.  You might consider all of this fitting under the title of kosher.

Most of us are not Jewish.  The kosher laws never were applied to us unless we were visiting a Jewish friend, although even that is questionable under the Rabbinical Jewish laws.

I would suggest that the biblical principles of diet and behavior would go along way towards making us healthy and keeping us healthy.  We would not be practicing them for salvation or an extra dose of grace.  We would simply be saying to ourselves, “God usually has a reason for the things He says.”

I might suggest calling it Neo-Kosher or maybe write a book about The Antinomian Diet.  Although I am not ready to give up bacon I will gladly stop boiling baby goat in the mother’s milk.  Actually I would be looking at other indicators in scripture to give guidance in what is healthy and what is not.  For instance, Jesus referred to Himself as “the Bread of Life”.  How could bread be a bad thing.  We are to be the salt of the earth.  Israel was going to the land of milk and honey.

Is this a doctrinal statement or a new denomination with dietary laws?  Never.  Just a little thinking outside the box and away from the cookie jar.

Opus 2024-005: New Terms: Crony-Justice

Just as crony-capitalism has perverted the residue of capitalism and the free market, so crony-justice is perverting the rule of law and the Constitution.

In the brainwashing that has been going on for at least a generation certain concepts have been reworked and redefined.  Capitalism is one of those.  Dragged under the bus is the idea of a free market.  Capitalism was a system developed to allow groups of people to combine their resources, their capital, and share not only the risks but also the profits of a major enterprise.  At first is was probably the wealthy that got involved, but in time the concept of stocks made it possible for even common people to get on board.

One of the early examples of this that most can understand involved the spice trade to the Indies.  Pepper, cinnamon and other spices were available from the mysterious East.  What was available came through the caravans crossing the world of Islam and the profits were reserved for Muslim traders.  When the European explorers found a way around Africa and across the Indian Ocean to India it made these commodities available to European traders.  It was a long voyage and full of risk but the payoff was incredible.  

Let me give you an example from my lecture notes of bygone years.  In 1497 Vasco de Gama sailed with four ships and found a way around Africa to India.  He returned two years later.  In the process he lost two ships and two thirds of his crews.  In spite of those loses he sold his cargo and made 60 times the cost of the voyage.  My notes say this came from Bernstein, Paul.  History of Civilization, Volume I:  to 1648, 1960.

Groups of investors would pool their money to send out multiple ships and the odds were that they would get rich.  In our lifetime, you could have invested in Microsoft at its beginning and be living in the lap of luxury.  

Then the government gets involved and the whole equation changes.  We see this in American history on the issue of tariffs.  The northern states that had an industrial base wanted high tariffs to protect their factories and workers.  The South wanted no tariffs because they imported everything and did not want the high prices that protectionism brought.  This issue almost started a civil war long before slavery became the catalyst.  

We now have seen this blossom into full blown crony capitalism.  This is a situation where big business and government get together to line their own nests at the expense of the general population.  A good example would be in the laws passed with the noble concern of making life accessible for the handicapped.  In these laws there were a lot of requirements for businesses that reached a certain size.  If you were already big you were grandfathered in or at least given a long period of time to put in handicap access in restrooms, elevators and doorways.  If you were a small business on the verge of moving up the cost was prohibitive and thus you were destined to stay small and not provide competition to the big guys.

Another name for crony capitalism is fascism.

We are seeing the same process in our justice system.  I am sure there has always been corruption.  I will accept the fact that there are conservatives who are effected by partisanship.  I also know that left wing, ideologue judges are in the process of ignoring justice and advancing a left wing agenda.  All you need to do is see the way in which Marxist prosecutors and judges have excused violent criminals with mild reprimands and for lesser “crimes” thrown conservatives in jail for years.  The only way you can be sure of having justice is to avoid the justice system.  Instead of the rule of law we have crony-justice in place.

Both gilded capitalism and gilded justice make use of the old terms.  This is part of the method of the progressives based on the philosophy of deconstructionism.  It is deliberate and has been in motion for a long time.  They use time honored words and phrases but they mean exactly the opposite of what they actual say.  They will not be happy until they bring about the violence they claim we are starting.  Their happiness will be short lived when they find out how their Marxist overlords treat the traitors that put them in place.

It will be no consolation for the rest of us.

So pray first, then act.  Stand up.  Speak out.  Vote.  Choose which businesses you support and stay off the radar.

Opus 2023-316: New Term: Music of the Spheres

For some reason the phrase “Music of the Spheres” popped into my head.  There is no explanation of how my head works.  I wondered if it came from the Bible because it is used in at least one hymn.  Could it be the foreknowledge of God involving all of the music that would be written by mankind through the ages?  Are there parallel words for other areas of life?

My speculation didn’t work out, according to a search the term goes back to Pythagoras, not the Bible.  Still it is a great phrase.

Another interesting fact is that when you use Google to do the search, the first page, at least, is made up of commercial purchases by a group called Coldplay.  You gotta love Google.  They would sell their soul to the highest bidder.  I guess they already have.

There are times when I feel Google is an insult to my intelligence but then it occurred to me that it might just be my intelligence that is the problem, not Google.

Opus 2023-261: New Term: Prophetic Satire

This word emerged in my writing.  I was looking for an expression that fit what the Babylon Bee does so often and so well.  They call what they do Christian Satire.  Then they bill themselves as a trusted name in news.  Have you noticed how often they come out reporting before the actual event.

One explanation is that the Biden handlers and legacy media have infiltrated the Bee and base their plans on what the Bee predicts.  After all, if you are incapable of coming up with original ideas why not borrow from the best.

The other is that the Bee staff is full of people with the gift of prophecy.  My pastor would deny that because he does not think the gift of prophecy is given any more.  I would say he is wrong.  How else can you come up with so much pre-truth?

Long live the Bee.

Opus 2023-196: New Terms: Canaanite

I watched part of a discussion between Eric Metaxas and Jordan Peterson.  They both love to talk but they also have a lot to say.  At one point Peterson got off on how the story of Cain and Abel had made a big impact on him.  

One of my mental searches involves what to call the people who seem to be taking over our world.  On any level you want to go they seem to be against the things of God.  They reject truth and in one form or another think they can become gods.  I have been searching for a name that fits.  There was a time when “liberal” worked but it has gone beyond that.  Many who would call themselves conservatives are in the mind set I am looking at.  I have been using my term “Proregressives” for awhile and will continue to use it.  

The discussion gave me an idea.  Cain as described by Jordan Peterson gives me a good name for the evil people in the world:  Canaanites.  The two words are different in Hebrew and only have the homonym quality in English.  At the same time there is a philosophical connection.  It is historically accurate and descriptive.  It would include Cain, Sodom, Moloch and such failed-in-the-ends as Solomon.  The Canaanites were an evil bunch.  Among other things they practiced was child sacrifice.  The concept is bad enough but they had a tradition of throwing their screaming children into a fiery furnace in the bowels of an idol to Moloch.  

Nasty.  Maybe it isn’t fair to drag them into this but they are a good match for the anti-God forces of today.  Their societies were as advanced as those around them.  They were not the odd balls in town but we know enough about them to know the evil nature of their culture.

So watch out for the modern day Canaanites.  They are everywhere and have plans for you.

Opus 2023-176: New Terms: Gestalt Theology

I am advocating an approach to the Bible that I call “Gestalt Theology”.  I did a search on the term and all the references that came up were about gestalt psychology.  So maybe the term is mine.

According to Google the Oxford dictionary defines gestalt as “an organized whole that is perceived as more than the sum of its parts.”  I like that.  I think it is the best way to look at the Bible if you are looking for truth.  I know people who like to ignore anything in the Bible that they don’t like or doesn’t fit into their system of belief.  Many commonly accepted foundations of faith are based on an isolated verse and what Jesus would have called the “traditions of the elders.”

Gestalt Theology starts with a belief that the entire Bible is the inspired word of God.  That means that not only is it true, it is one continuous statement that must work together.  That means if you find something that conflicts, you cannot reject one and teach the other but must come to an understanding that includes both.  We have done that with the doctrine of the trinity.  We have a clear statement,

(Deu 6:4 KJV)  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

And yet we have references to the Son and the Spirit that also attribute divinity.  The church came up with a complex explanation of three in one because that is what the gestalt of the Bible requires.  

One that is often overlooked is the universally accepted statement,

(Eph 2:8 KJV)  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Christians agree this is true and proceed to get out the scissors to remove much of the Bible because you find calls to obedience and upright living on just about every page.  The problem emerged when enthusiastic theologians add a word to grace, the word “alone”.  I have heard it expressed, “If it is grace plus anything then it is not grace.”  While their friends agree with that I am not sure God does, and it does not stand the test of gestalt.

Yes, we are saved by Grace.  It is a gift.  We cannot earn it.  We don’t earn it but unless you want to have a totally arbitrary God who sends most of mankind to hell with not even a first chance, let alone a second, you need to ask yourself, “What standard does God use to decide when He extends His grace.”  Since you can read you simply say, “The standard of faith.”  Then you have to decide what that means, what you are having faith in and so forth.

The good news for me is that God is the one who will make the decisions and we know that Jesus came to save sinners not to see how many He could cast into Hell.

If you took psychology classes somewhere in your life and heard about gestalt psychology don’t lay that on my theology.  The mental approach focuses on feelings and emotions.  The spiritual root is in the Bible.

Opus 2023-152: New Term: Gastrogressions

How about a restaurant built on the premise of avoiding gastronomical microagressions?  We would refuse to serve anything that caused anyone a sense of threat, tension or gas.

Let’s start with me.  I hate liver and onions.  It used to be that the simple smell of cooking liver would make me gag and want to vomit.  The first thing we would need to ban is liver.  Sticking with my family, my wife has issues that keep her from enjoying spicy food.  I cannot make chili at home because I might spill some cyan or chili powder and she would pay for it.  That rules out any food with exotic spices.

Nut allergies, shell fish allergies, soy allergies:  The list is endless.  If you have any questions about that then read the ingredient labels on just about anything you buy pre-packed.  From what I see on the warnings, about the only thing we are not allergic to are the chemical additives.  That may be because the chemical companies has big enough lobbying budgets to stay off the radar.  It might be that this new restaurant I am proposing could only offer additive soup and filler casseroles.  

A common sense solution would be to be careful and chose your table wisely.  I have not run into any misguided souls eating liver and onions in a restaurant in forty years.  When I was a young pastor I used to go to the dinner get togethers of the seniors and it seemed like the special was always liver and onions and they loved liver and onions.  I joked about it, tried to sit up wind and enjoyed the fellowship.  

The weakness in this is common sense.  People seem to be allergic to that also.

Opus 2023-126: New Terms: Woke?

I don’t read all the click bait so I am not sure what the official line is but I am hearing that people don’t know how to define “woke”.  Let me help.

In classical English “woke” means to stop being asleep.  My pre-redaction, dead tree fiber dictionary tells me it is the alternative past tense of “wake”.  I also notice that two pages back is “wing nut”.

In Proregressive English is means to be sedated to reality and is the present tense rather than the past.  It has the opposite meaning.

Being woke requires a lot of flexibility because the meanings of words and acceptable behavior are constantly changing, sometime daily.  This gives woke a timeless quality.

Woke means always looking over your shoulder to see what your minders want you to say or do.

As a general rule woke means that you can’t take care of yourself or provide for your own needs because that would require work, which may look similar to woke but has nothing in common.

The woke tend to be on the left of politics.  I don’t know if that is built into their DNA or if it is possible for someone on the right to be infected.

Opus 2023-033: New Term: Lookening

Prayer.  I still struggle with the question of “Why?”  I stumbled across an article at Jewish World Review with one of those titles that are designed to be click bait, “Jews do not pray”.  Of course they do.  The point he was making was along the lines of my thinking.  

“If the Divine is all knowing then why am I telling Him my problems? He already knows them. If the Divine is all-good then why am I asking for Him to change my situation?”

His answer involved some sophistry and word games.  I did not concentrate on all of his reasoning.  It was enough that someone else was asking the question.

I pray.  I pray daily.  I doubt if I live up to the admonition of Paul in I Thessalonians 5:17 to pray without ceasing, but I talk to God a fair bit.  I even have lists of people and situations I cover.

One of the popular mantras I keep hearing is “Prayer changes things.”  I accept the thought but I am not sure I accept it the way it is usually intended.  One reason it raises my left eyebrow is that I can’t find that phrase in the Bible, as encouraging as it might be.

My current thinking is that prayer is primarily an activity that benefits us as we pray.  I rejected the shopping list type of prayer long ago.  I look at it more as a way of communicating which involves listening and pondering more than giving God a piece of my mind.  I find that as I offer up praise and thanksgiving it changes my perspective and calls to mind all the times I have had my trust in Him vindicated.  It reminds me of who He is.  

So I pray.  It is not a lecture series.  It is more along the line of Bible reading.  When I read the Bible I am not looking for proof texts, at least not usually.  I am looking while listening.  Maybe I can coin a word “lookening”.  God speaks to us and the most available way is through His written word.

Keep praying.  Keep reading.  Keep listening.  I hope to be there before you.

Opus 2022-030: New Terms: Sophiology

I keep track of the non-fiction books I read each year.  I put down the date I finished and the general topic.  I was surprised to look back and see I had read four books I labeled “Philosophy” and a couple of more I could have put in that category.  It surprises me because one of my most boring classes in college was the required Philosophy 101 all students had to take.  I never wanted to touch philosophy again.  

It took years for me to wake up to the fact that we are all philosophers.  Any time we disagree with someone and try to explain it we get into philosophy.  My position is that philosophy is made to argue, not to be read.  Having said that I keep wondering why certain writers get so much press from modern thinkers.  Now that I am old and looking for reasons to sit in my chair I have decided to do a little reading of the books I missed in my youth.  

I think we need to re-label philosophy.  The word is often a lie.  It is a combination of two Greek words.  One means love and the other wisdom.  Together they mean a love of wisdom.  Too often that is a lie.  We should do away with philosophy because those who speak it often do not love wisdom.  They are out for royalties, power or fame.  Instead we should make it a scientific pursuit and call it Sophiology.  That would mean the study of wisdom.  

You can study something without acting like you love it.  You don’t manipulate what you love.  You don’t distort what you love.  You don’t try to confuse people with what you love.  Too often those seem to be the goals of modern philosophers.

Opus 2022-022: New Terms: Politicized Science

Modifiers can change the total meaning of a word.  I have written before that adding the adjective “social” to “justice” produces something that has nothing to do with justice.  The same happens any time you put any number except two in front of the word “genders”.  One of the most recent marxist definitions is “multiracial whiteness”.  This is happening all around us.  You may think you understand but you need to accept that there is an organized campaign by the Proregressives* to change the culture through language.  

Friedrich Hayek commented on this 80 years ago as he was reflecting on how the socialists had taken over Germany and were infiltrating the rest of the world.

“In this particular case the perversion of the meaning of the word has, of course, been well prepared by a long line of German philosophers and, no least, by many of the theoreticians of socialism.  But ‘freedom’ or ‘liberty’ are by no means the only words whose meaning has been changed into their opposites to make them serve as instruments of totalitarian propaganda.  We have already seen how the same happens to ‘justice’ and ‘law,’ ‘right’ and ‘equality.’  The list could be extended until it includes almost all moral and political terms in general use.”,  p. 174

Notice the list of words that they focused on.  We have our own examples of language perversion.   

Have you heard people saying that this is the first generation of American children who will not be able to do better than their parents?  At the same time they whine about how there are no jobs available for them after they paid for a college education.  Overlooking the fact that they have not paid for it yet you need to understand that most of them have college majors that include the word “studies”.  How many good paying jobs are there where you work for people with a BA in Women’s Studies?  You can fill in the blanks yourself, *-studies means they went to school to party and have no interest in productive work.  They have no prospects because they have degrees in worthless subjects.

Then you have the diluting of the word “science”.  I wanted to teach history.  They did not have a teaching credential in history any more.  Now it is “Social Science”.  It is a broad category that has nothing to do with science.  It would include economics, government and psychology.  These are subjects that are based mainly on guess work and unprovable hypothesis.  Among the subjects is something called “political science”.  What do you think of when you hear that term?

I think a better title would be “politicized science.”  It is a pollution of the real goal of science which is to seek knowledge and question everything.  Real science uses the scientific method which suggests an hypothesis and then does careful experiments to find if the idea is true or false.  Once that is done they take a baby step, form a new hypothesis and recycle.  Politicized science decides what you want to prove for political reasons, finds guys with degrees and white coats and pays them to come up with the results desired.

I don’t do social media, unless blogging is considered social medial, so I have not actually read the opinions expressed about a new topic, “Purebloods”.  From what I can pick up there are a group of people who have not been vaccinated that are compensating for their inadequacies by pointing out the reality that certain wrongly named “vaccines” are really chemicals that cause changes in you genetic code.  The question is, I guess, if your genetic code is changed, are you still really human?  Is your blood polluted?  If it is then those who have not been modified have pure blood.  

There is a certain logic to it.  The problem is you follow the value system of the Progressives* and start to base your decisions of identity politics.  You invoke the spirit of democracy which demands that everyone be the same.  If you are not the same you have nothing but persecution in your future.  It is the thinking that was at the roots of socialism.  The government decides what is necessary and everyone conforms, or else.  And you have the added advantage that it is for you own good.

It is possible that the vaccines cause irreparable damage to the recipients.  We are seeing a lot of unexplained deaths and severe disabilities in those who are following the directions of the CDC and their local doctor.  In a free society you allow people to make those decisions and live with the consequences.  You do not judge the entire group of vaccinated as potential zombies.  Our idea of freedom is based on judging individuals by their actions not groups defined by their averages.

You may have heard the term “Untermenschen”.  They were to ones defined by the National Socialists as not being part of the master race.  In those days it was defined by your race.  The idea of “pureblood” is the same type of dangerous doggerel that can pervert society and cause ongoing harm.

We are one nation, under God not the Ins and the Outs.

Opus 2022-012: New Terms: Liberty

As the forces of the Administrative State and the Proregressive version of democracy work late into the night to reduce our liberty we hear a lot of talk about freedom, rights and the accompanying liberty.  Lots of people talk about liberty but to see the problem with that let me remind you of one of the most memorable quotes of that great philosopher, William Jefferson Clinton, “It depends on what the meaning of “is” is.”  For our uses substitute “liberty” for “is” and you see the problem.

Lord Acton, of absolute power corrupting absolutely, had a definition. 

“By liberty I mean the assurance that every man shall be protected in doing what he believes his duty against the influence of authority and majorities, custom and opinion.”  Kindle Location 531-532

It is not a complete definition by any means but it does give us a way of closing in on an understanding.  Liberty means that you have the ability to do what you feel is right no matter what the government, society or your wife tells you to do.  You can make choices without coercion or threats to your life or well being.

We are experiencing a tremendous loss of liberty in our modern day America.  The entire purpose of the illegal and traitorous persecution of the people arrested for their actions on January 6 are not for the purpose of justice but to frighten the general public into being quiet and enduring the overbearing actions of the police state.  Since when do you throw people into jail for a year when the worst they could be accused of is trespass.

Admit it.  You are not as likely to speak out as you once would.  Those of us who write on blogs and such are not really brave.  It is the person who stands up in a city counsel meeting that shows his courage and demonstrates his American liberty.  The parents in Virginia who went to a school board meeting and had the FBI sicced on them is another example of persecution for exercising God given rights.

It is printed on our money.  We need to see it in our streets.

Opus 2021-301: New Terms: Reality

At our bi-weekly Baby Zoomer meeting I have been hearing repeated references to something that I think is called “The Amazing Race”.  I finally had to stop and ask, “What is ‘The Amazing Race’?”  The simple answer is, another reality show.  I suggested that they needed to get library cards.  They didn’t get huffy but they came close.  Several showed me their library cards.  Of course they also admitted that they had not used them in a long time.  To give you an idea of how long, one guy talked about handing his books to the librarian at check out.  If you don’t know how old school that is then you need to update your card and get out a little more.

But I digress.

What gets me is that we have labeled these things “Reality” Shows.  Where is the reality?  I broke down and watched the trailer I found on You Tube for this show.  It looked like a remake of Around the World in 80 Days.  I liked the short shot of a guy racing down a river with a camera man taking a close up.  It takes a lot of reshooting to make a staged moment look like reality.  I guess they do a good job.

How do you film spontaneous moments in a mad race?  The only clue I could find without actually watching the show is that it is broken down in segments.  I suppose that is so they can post thousands of cameras along the possible route to catch millions of shots to chose from.  If they were making a reality show out of the Indianapolis 500 they would probably keep restaging the crashes until they got the lighting right.  I get the feeling that these shows are as spontaneous as an Obama speech.

I have three library cards.  I have to renew them every year.  At one library all you do is have the computer scan your card, lay your books on the tray and decide it you want a receipt.  The librarians are hiding behind plexiglass, wearing masks and looking at you with fear in their eyes because you might ask a question on your way out.  Or maybe you might read a book that makes you think.

That is my reality show.

Opus 2021-280: New Terms: The Electron Curtain

The phrase “Iron Curtain” was coined by Winston Churchill in a speech given after World War II was over and he had been booted out of office by the people of Great Britain.  He had always been warning FDR about the danger represented by Stalin and the Soviet Union.  Now, with the war over, the Soviet Union was rattling its sabers and showing Stalin’s true colors in such a way that even the Pollyanas of the United States could not ignore it.  The shooting was over.  The Nazi menace had been defeated.  Now Communism was on the march.  The Cold War had begun.

The totalitarian philosophy of the Germans and Italians has survived.  It is continued by the Communist party and its disguised servants in the rest of the world.  That includes the United States.  They have cleaned up, put on different clothes and edited their vocabulary, but they are more entrenched that they were in 1939.  Today they have taken over key posts in the government and are linking up with their allies in the media and education.  They are censoring and coercing everyone that comes on their radar.  The Iron Curtain has been replaced by the Electron Curtain.

No longer do they need to raid your newspaper and smash your presses.  Now all they need to do is shut down your social media accounts, adjust the Google search engines and get the banks to cancel your credit.  No blood.  No violence.  No waves.  The stomping and destruction have become very civilized.

We are in for an interesting ride.
