Opus 2025-153: Prophets or Not

Modern day prophets exist, or they think they exist.  In my lifetime we have had a repetitive claim by some guru about when Jesus would return or the world would end.  So far they have been wrong, as far as I know.  Of course the rapture may have already taken place and I am still here, but I doubt it.  They tend to start with the deck stacked against them.  They feel that they need to give dates.  Those dates are destined to be wrong.  Jesus said even He did not know the date.  I am not sure how these spiritual geniuses think they can figure it out.

Biblical prophets were not handicapped by that.  Generally speaking they didn’t get specific.  Often they don’t even get general.  Trying to tie them to any known event is a real challenge.  Take the Abomination of Desolation referred to by Jesus in Matthew 24:15.  As of now that prophecy has been fufilled at least twice and we are still not to the one that eschatology buffs will accept.  Ezekiel gives the dimensions of a temple that is interpreted to be in the last days.  The big problem is there is no mention of it in Revelation.

If you know anyone who is a prophet or believes they can interpret the prophets have a bit of mercy on them.  They are either uniquely blessed or out of touch with reality.  I won’t tell you which I think it is.

Opus 2024-349: Buried Mysteries

What mysteries still remain to be uncovered?  Are there any significance?  Will they make any difference?

I’m thinking in terms of the quiet this morning.  It’s before 6 o’clock, still dark and I’m not even hearing cars drive by.  It’s almost enough to make you think the rapture took place and you got left behind.  I’m contrasting this with the incredible volume of insects that we had just a month or so ago as the cicadas came out of the ground and were going through their mating rituals.  It was incredible.  I’ve never heard such noise made by just insects.  Today there is nothing.  Who in their right mind would have thought of looking underground for an insect that grew for 13 or 17 years, depending on the breed, before it came out to reproduce.  Who would have dreamed of such a thing?

Yet there it is.

Does this knowledge change the way you live?  Does it make the world any different, really?  Probably not.  There may be some application that we haven’t thought about yet, another mystery.  But generally, no.

Which brings me back to the original question, what is still out there?  I believe there must be many, many things that we haven’t even begun to think about.  It will require some major thinking outside the box or just plain accidents.  Maybe it is buried treasure. Think of it is a buried city that the archaeologists are investigating because people digging a new sewer line, uncovered something they hadn’t seen before.

Think of how complex God is and how many things He has planned out, and the way the world works together that we’re just beginning to discover.  I think of that silly illustration about a butterfly, fluttering its wings and causing a tornado around the world.

Think.  Explore.  Investigate.  Wonder.

Opus 2024-177: Huh?

I was thinking about how God communicated with the patriarchs.  He did communicate, and yet it seems he used different methods.  My mind went to Daniel.  Daniel was not one of the patriarchs, but he did communicate with God.  Sometimes I think God communicated directly with Daniel, but most of what we have are in the form of visions.

In looking at the different ways in which God communicated, He was sometimes very clear, and sometimes very cryptic.  Why the difference?  Why could He dictate the law to Moses almost word for word and yet when it came to Daniel and his prophecies they were so confusing and dystopic that no one could figure out what they mean.  The same with John and his Revelation.

I would come to the conclusion that there were times when God wanted you to know specifically some information and other times he didn’t want you to know.  He might want you to figure it out.  He might want you to think about it.  Sometimes chewing on one subject will bring you to a better understanding of others.  But He doesn’t want you to know.

So when I think of Revelation, Ezekiel, Daniel, and prophecies like that, I don’t see them as being clear teachings of God as much as emotional warnings about possibilities.

Feel free to disagree.  The tension of discussion might teach important truths.

Opus 2024-052: Jeremiah Goes Trans

There are certain things that have always been accepted as leg pulling.  Remember the snipe hunts organized on Spin and Marty of the Mickey Mouse Club?  We used to do that at camps and it was amazing how often it worked.  Have you ever sent someone after a left-handed monkey wrench?  I know someone who was sent out for headlight oil, and he went.  The current idea that men can have babies and monthly periods should be in that genre of entertaining tall tales.  The problem is there seem to be people who believe it.

We are being told that men can have babies.  What you may not know is that the idea is not original for the woke college graduates.  Jeremiah prophesied this thousands of years ago,

(Jer 30:6 KJV)  Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
(Jer 30:7 KJV)  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Yes, you read that right.  What should worry you is that the term “Jacob’s trouble” is often assumed to mean the great tribulation.  In other words it is an indication that the end is here.

Many people speculate on the end times.  They set dates for the return of Jesus.  They write books and start new denominations.  Israel is a nation again.  We are waiting for the temple to be rebuilt.  And now we are waiting for men to have babies but I think it is presented more as a result of the tribulation than a sign.

It brings whole new meaning to the term Jacob’s Trouble.

Opus 2023-243: Prophet’s Hat: A Window into the Future

The world is watching Israel.  Some are looking on with horror.  Some are dancing in the streets.  I am going to recommend that we all clean our guns and keep them handy.  This attack on Israel could simply be a dry run on what we can expect in the United States.

Can you say illegal aliens?  Can you say predominately young men?  Can you say where are they?  I don’t know what details to believe but there seems to be a consensus that our southern border is being flooded with large numbers of invaders.  In the past it was assumed that they came looking for economic windfalls.  We don’t see them at work.  They must be somewhere.  

One speculation is that they are being brought in to swell the ranks of Democratic voters.  You may have seen the Babylon Bee piece that said the National Guard was being sent to the border to register people to vote.  Being the Babylon Bee, it was prophetic satire based on knowledge of how things work, not of facts.

A more sinister explanation is that they are the army Biden’s handlers are bringing in to start an insurrection.  Since the deplorables have not risen to the bait the Democrat overlords probably figure they are going to need to prime the pump, so you import a ready made army.  Can you picture what would happen if we suddenly had pickup loads of Socialist soldiers riding around firing fully automatic weapons at anything that moved.  You get an early look by watching what is happening in Israel.  Of course the picture you would see in NYC would be totally different than in Dallas.

I thought the citizens of Israel were well armed.  Why is no one shooting back?  If they bring it home to America will we be better armed and prepared or run screaming to General Milley to save us?

Opus 2022-340: Which Chart Is Right?

I recently saw a meme poster that gave me an insight into prophecy.  You may have seen it.  It showed a scattering of disposable plates and bowls.  The caption said, “All but one are facing down.  Once you see the one facing up they will all appear to be facing up.”  

They were right.  It was strange and once I saw it I could not un-see it.  I didn’t spend a lot of time on it, just enjoyed the moment and went on.

It made me think of some of the discussions I have had with people about the end times as “revealed” in the books of Revelation, Daniel, etc.  One of the reasons I don’t spend a lot of time trying to figure them out is that so many people with more knowledge than I have written books about eschatology and as a general rule, they disagree.  Their charts are wonders to behold.

I accept that Jesus is coming back.  I can see that a lot of events are being forecast.  The truth is given but like that meme poster, most of them are facing down.  I expect that someday, when it is too late to matter, we will see the one bit of truth that will bring it all into alignment.  Until then it is just mystery on top of mystery except for one fact anyone can see:  You need to be ready.

So have fun interpreting.  Have your own theories and be convinced that you have cracked the code.  Know the date but be ready in case you are wrong.  I plan on being ready whether you are right or wrong.  Meanwhile I remind myself that even a broken clock is right twice a day but I don’t need a broken clock to tell if it is day or night.

Opus 2021-247: The Coming Lack of Medical Care

Daily we hear about some new company or government agency that is requiring people to have the experimental vaccine.  If they don’t then either do not come to work or expect to do business.  At this point it hasn’t touched me because I am retired and in Texas.  I expect the other shoe to drop any day.

I expect that next time I go to see one of my doctors I will be required to have had the jab.  They may be satisfied with a verbal confirmation or they may require proof.  Either way I will not be taken care of.  I don’t plan on deception and I don’t plan on being punctured.  What do we do then?  How do we survive without medical care?  My guess is the same way we would have survived if there were no doctors available.  

I think all of us, even the ones who are losing our respect for the medical profession, have put doctors up on a pedestal.  I know I have.  They are highly trained.  They are experts in their fields.  They are dedicated to the healing arts.  That may have been true at some time but I know it isn’t true today.  Keep in mind that they have been trained at schools that are constantly lowering the entrance requirements in order to meet some politically correct quota.  They blithely process data from the CDC that makes no sense and set policy based on propaganda rather than science.  

Let me give a word of encouragement on your daily medical needs.  I believe we have given doctors credit that they do not deserve.  Imagine a scenario.  You have come down with something.  After a few days you go see a doctor and after doing the basics they prescribe an antibiotic.  The prescription is based on a hail Mary guess based on what they have read about “there’s a lot of that going around.”  The antibiotic is probably a broad spectrum germ killer that will take out almost anything from toe fungus to head lice.  You are told to take it the entire week.  After a few days you start feeling better and eventually go back to work.  How would this have been different if you had no health insurance and simply ate Lipton noodle soup, drank lots of water and got a lot of sleep?  My guess is the pattern would have been just the same except for the time wasted at the doctor and pharmacy.  I make that guess because that is the way I was raised, without insurance.  

I will accept if you have a ruptured appendix or a heart attack they are still needed.  At my age it is possible that I will come down with some elderly condition that knocks me off at 80 instead of 81, but I think the chances are in my corner.

Add to that a healthy dose of Providence and guardian angels and just get on with life.  Now when they take my library card away that will be different so I am already planning work-arounds.

Opus 2021-044: Prophet’s Hat: Get Out of Dodge

Well, that didn’t take long.  Shortly after I wrote about President Trump getting out of Dodge before the lynch mob came for him I saw a link that talked about putting him in jail for six months.  I saw the link on Pro Trump News which took me to something called Trending Politics which had a video from MSNBC, which I did not bother to watch.

It seems that the Attorney General of Washington, D.C. is proposing that Citizen Trump needs to go to jail for exercising his First Amendment rights.  

What a twisted world these fascists live in.  After Democrat after Democrat calling openly for violence against Republicans and even resorting to shooting and beating, it is suddenly too much to tell people to peacefully let their voice be heard.

Opus 2021-023: The Prophets’s Hat: A Post Trump World, Part 3 of 3

Europe will be losing the shield it had in America.  Trump had forced them to grow up a little.  NATO members were beginning to pull their own weight.  Poland has made great strides.  The problem is that without an American Presidential backbone, Russia will again begin to flex its muscles.  When the Progressives* make their move to shut down American energy production, Russia will be in a place to play the oil card again.  That will give them the finances to rearm and the leverage over Europe that may make it unnecessary.  

We also forget that things are not going to go smoothly here in the United States.  Will the fascists in government push too fast and set off a rebellion?  Will they take their time and make people think the black helicopters will only be coming for their neighbors?  Will the 50 states remained united or will there be so much power grabbing that things start to come apart?  It is anyone’s guess.  

One of the topics that keeps coming up goes by various names.  We hear of secession.  Some talk of civil war.  The Declaration of Independence calls it separation.  When the media decided to start labeling the Republicans with red and the Democrats in blue it allowed for all kinds of creative and informative maps.  We have long heard about “fly-over country” and the “left coast”.  Will the areas of the country not dominated by liberal, cesspool cities submit quietly to the tyranny of the socialists?  Will the South rise again?

It does not promise to be a peaceful time ahead.  We will learn a lot about how things are going in the next few months.

Opus 2021-022: The Prophets’s Hat: A Post Trump World, Part 2 of 3

Things will change in the world with Biden, or whomever they replace him with, in the White House.  China will have the green light to bring the blessings of Maoist culture to the world.

Number one on China’s wish list will probably be Taiwan.  The island knows this and is doing all it can to prepare for the violent acquisition that China has in mind.  For a few million dollars China can get Biden to relocate all American military assets to a more important place such as shielding the Island of Maui from a rumored invasion by Kamehameha III.  With America standing down I can’t think of any realistic place that Taiwan can turn for help.  I would forecast an attempt to overrun the island sometime during the Biden administration, sooner rather than later.

South Korea will probably be number three, only because the Himalayan mountains stand between China and India.  They need to get over their hatred for Japan because their only hope in a Biden world is to have a strong ally close by.  If you remember any of your pre-Progressive* history, South Korea and the United States were well on their way to beating the nonsense out of North Korea until China decided to send in its human wave attacks.  China has long looked at Korea as a vassal state and will want to reestablish that in the south.  

Southeast Asia is going to become a war zone.  China will try to roll them up while Biden is on the payroll.  One of the big reasons in oil.  The South China Sea has a wealth of petroleum resources waiting to be extracted.  I promise you that China will not be putting any wasted effort into renewables or green deals.  That is for countries they want to see weakened.

After securing the Pacific rim China will move southwest to the subcontinent.  India has the world’s the second largest population after China.  They are a nuclear power and are moving into world status.  They are a threat to the hegemony of China and China knows it.  India needs to start a draft and get on a war footing.  They are already part way there.  A shooting war is in progress in the Himalayas.  So far it is small incidents but it is very real.  To their west is Pakistan and there is a lot of disputed territory.  Picture the temptation to start something while the Democrats are busy moving the political generals back into position and returning our military to third world status.

The Middle East is a big question mark.  Trump has gone a long way toward convincing the Muslim countries that their real enemy is not Israel but Iran.  Trump has made giant steps but Trump will no longer be around.  Instead you will have Uncle Joe who was part of the deal that shipped pallets of cash to Iran to try to buy them off.  

Sub-Sahara Africa and Latin America have already been infiltrated by the Chinese.  Most of it has been in the form of economic aid and loans but the strange thing about loans is that they come due.

Opus 2021-021: The Prophets’s Hat: A Post Trump World, Part 1 of 3

It is time for the world to listen to my advice.  Will they?  Of course not.  Even my wife doesn’t listen to my advice, so rest easy.  In spite of that I offer my predictions for the world in a Post-Trump political structure be it now or in four more years.  Things are going to change, and not for the better.  You may not have noticed but many hot spots in the world have cooled down with Donald Trump in the White House.  While I still have a vague hope that a rabbit will pop out of the hat I don’t have a lot.

Let’s start with Japan.  This is a country that is close to the top of the charts when it comes to xenophobic thinking.  Like the Chinese and the Koreans they tend to look down on the rest of the world.  After trying to conquer and being defeated they have been really good at using the United States to keep them safe while they rebuilt.  They have been a friend but have gained by the relationship.  Those cosy days are about to come to an end.  A new Pharaoh is arising in Egypt and he knows not Joseph.  It is questionable that he knows Joe but the president you have is the one you have to work with.

Japan needs to realize that the Biden Administration will not have their backs.  It is worse than that.  If China says, “Look the other way,” Joe will throw his neck out of joint.  The animosity between the island and the continent goes back centuries.  It includes the original Kamikaze as well as the slaughter of pre-WWII.  China has a special place in their camps for the Japanese.  Japan needs to look to their own protection.  That can take two paths.  Either become a nuclear power or begin learning the dialect that the Chi-Coms speak.  Japan is probably second or third on China’s list of targets.

Opus 2020-018: The Prophet’s Hat: Thermostats

The day will come when the progressives begin to require Save the Whales Thermostats.  The name is nonsense but so are most things that come from the progressives.

These Thermostats will only have two settings on them:  Heat and Cool.  The temperature will be preset at the factory.  If you want it to heat the temp will be 68º.  If you want A/C it will only cool to 74º.  These will be smart thermostats so that the governing VAC Czar can radio changes if he is having a bad day at the office.

This does not require much of a gift of prophecy.  People with smart meters and cutting edge thermostats already have the tools in place.  All it needs is someone who is bored and has access to the central controls. 

If you have been following the moves by Democrats in Virginia to disarm the population you have read about threats to turn off people’s utilities to force compliance.  I don’t know if that is from a satire site or real reporting but it can be done overnight, with no danger to the utility employees, to anyone with a smart meter.

When I look at Republicans like Mitt Romney I don’t know if they are the answer but I know that Democrats are the problem.
