Opus 2026-268: Reparations across the Board

I don’t understand the reasoning behind reparations.  How someone who never owned slaves could owe something to someone who was never a slave is a mystery to me.  But for today let’s go with that.  We have a principle that no matter how far back you go in history and whether you have ancestors involved or not, you have the right to pay people back or demand payment from them.

So let’s look back in history.  I just finished reading about how the Muslim victors would set terms for surrender, guarantee safe passage and as soon as the gates were open begin to slaughter everyone and steal everything.  They loved to ride their horses over infants and slice open pregnant women.  If we are going to accept the logic of reparations then we have the right to take a tank and a few 50 caliber machine guns into any Muslim neighborhood and start shooting.  It is only fair because centuries ago Muslims did it to Christians.  Point out the fallacy in my logic.

Perhaps we could look back to the Mongols sweeping over Eastern Europe, the Middle East, northern India and any other place in reach.  The Mongels at one time made up the ruling dynasty of China so it would only be fair if all the armies of the world would start rolling across the Gobi and not stop until they arrived at the Formosa Straight.  It is only reparations at work.

Maybe we should insist on the help of the US Army to support the Cherokee to reclaim their ancestral grounds.  I don’t mean in Georgia.  Before that.  Back when they were located up in New York and Pennsylvania.  Let’s kill everyone in those states or if we are really serious about reparations locate the descendants of the Indian tribes that drove them out and give them what they deserve.

I am sure we could find other examples.  If you go back in history you could come up with a reason to kill just about anyone and take their worldly goods.  What a world that would be.

Ultimately this just goes back to the Conan principle.  Conan the Barbarian was able to do anything he wanted to do if his muscles were bigger and his sword sharper.  In other contexts it is called the law of the jungle and if you are weak, you are dinner.

So sure.  Reparations sounds like a good idea if you have all the guns and no moral scruples.

Opus 2026-266: Political Precedence

The recent visit by President Trump brought up the danger of Mainland Communist China invading Taiwan.  The carefully worded language is offensive and dangerous.  The Communists insist that Taiwan is still apart of their empire.  They think that because it was once so it is always so.  If we accept that logic then we will need to face the consequences.

Think about Mexico once controlling our Southwest.  La Raza advocates Mexico taking back the land it surrendered in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.  For some reason they think their claim is more genuine than Spain or the Apaches.  Like so many political positions it is illogical and self-serving.  It still exits.  If Taiwan belongs to China then Santa Barbara Mission belongs to Mexico.

This is also the attitude that the Muslims have.  They take it a step farther.  They seem to feel that any area they have ever controlled is still theirs.  They conquered the Eastern Mediterranean by destroying the Christian armies and later the Christians themselves.  The fact that Egypt used to be one of the centers of Christian culture is immaterial.  It is now, and forever will be, Muslim by their way of thinking.

Think about historical precedent for us.  The United States was once a part of Great Britain.  American residents considered themselves British citizens.  If we accept the thinking of China then Great Britain has the right to invade Washington again.

Where does this thinking stop?  One line that needs to be set in concrete instead of drawn in the sand at low tide on a windy day is the use of force.  Even that is slippery.  Does Texas have the right to declare itself an independent country?  Can New York declare that it is a city state on the ancient Greek model?

Unfortunately the principle of the sword will never go away.  Human nature being what it is armed force will always have the final word.  Some people might bring up Ghandi and India using nonviolent resistance.  If he had tried that with the country under the control of Pol Pot or Mao the world would have never heard of him.  We as a free people will always need to keep our swords sharp and do everything we can to dull the blades of our adversaries.

Opus 2026-242: Get out of Your Bubble

One of the Pod-Casts that I will usually consider is Uncommon Knowledge.  Recently Peter Robinson was interviewing a wonk named Michael McFaul.  I had never heard of him.  He has written a lot of books with you can buy but the local libraries have none of his work.

The discussion went many directions regarding foreign policy.  They started with Russia since McFaul had been very involved in negotiations through several presidents.  They then went to China and so forth.  Interesting.  I did not get the feeling I could take everything he said to the bank.  When you serve at high levels of administration for both parties it says a lot about your “flexibility”.

What moved me toward writing him off was his comments about how we need to become more united as a country.  While I like the sentiment I am also aware that the issues that divide us are important and can’t just be glossed over.  I am aware that the far left in this country are not out to get along but to destroy what has made us unique in history.  They want to destroy all of the liberties in the Bill of Rights and increase the power of the Federal government.  They want the elites to make our decisions for us because they are wiser than we are.

There is no middle road on abortion.  There is no middle road on mutilating the bodies of children nor is there a middle road of honest elections.  There are some things that spell compromise as surrender.  McFaul seemed like a genuinely decent human being.  He is intelligent and well educated.  He is also incredibly naive and living in a Ph.D. Bubble.

He needs to get out more.

Opus 2026-205: Form a Circle

We are once again going through the ritual of the right where we form a circle, face the center and hear, “Ready, Aim, Fire”.

We are still eating our own. We accuse the left of doing that. We are just as guilty. I am not talking about forcing people out of congress because of their disgusting behavior. That is something we need more of. I am not talking about releasing the Epstein files. If there are Republicans on the list and they actually did something besides be at the same party or in the same town, then they need to be examined and meet justice. I am talking about taking every little wobble or variation and demanding that they leave the movement.

It is not a choice between perfection and perfidy. We need to understand that. There will never be a utopia and Jesus was the only perfect person to walk the earth. It always amazes me the people who say they would never vote for Trump because of mean tweets and he was running against someone who had nothing to recommend them. In Texas I am hearing the same thing about Ken Paxton. He is not perfect but his opponent should be embarrassed to be in the same election with him. We need to grow up. We will never have a choice between totally good and totally bad. It will always be a decision between better and unacceptable.

It is time to embrace the future and vote like responsible citizens electing someone to represent us and not elevating them to sainthood.

Opus 2026-115: Trump Being Trump

I watched the State of the Union Address.  I did not want to, but I knew that I would not get any honest appraisal of what was said and what happened if I didn’t watch it.  It’s one of those key moments where we have a way of stepping around the fake news and the distortions and actually going to the source.  It was my responsibility as an American citizen to listen to what he had to say, not what other people said he had to say.

There are two things about listening to this that make it painful.  The first would be the theatrical element that has crept into the State of the Union Address.  There are a lot of really nice things that happen that don’t belong in a report on how the country is doing.  Lifting up heroes is great.  Pointing out people that have risen above the crowd and gone the extra mile is wonderful, but I don’t need to be entertained with 10 minute long applause and weeping family members.  So the amount of time spent on things that have nothing to do with the purpose of this speech I find frustrating.  It’s one reason why I would rather read something than watch it or listen to it.  When I’m reading, I can skim and skip.  I find myself doing this more and more in my old age.  I learned I don’t have to read everything.  Unfortunately in real time, you have to listen to everything.

The second thing that I find painful is listening to Donald Trump.  I support him.  I think he is doing an awesome job overall.  He’s getting things done.  He loves America.  In spite of that I find it painful to listen to him with his constant hyperbole.  The problem with hyperbole when it’s overused is that it loses its impact.  He talks about having the best of this in history, really?  He says it’s the greatest in the last 50 years.  Really?  I know it’s hyperbole.  I know his point is that we are doing well, but I get tired of the exaggerations.  The two hour presentation could’ve been cut down to about 20 minutes if we cut out the theatrics, hyperbole, extended applause, and repetition.

That have been said, since it’s over and done, I am glad I listened.  Of course I’m glad that I was drafted and served in Vietnam too, but I wouldn’t want to do it again.

I really enjoyed this constant emphasis on how the Democrats were not responding like Americans but more like America haters.  Toward the end, they finally started standing up when some things were so obvious they should be approved of, but you weren’t going to catch them giving Trump the time of day.  I found his approach refreshing.  I know all the bleeding heart people that want a lot of touch and feel didn’t like it.  It made them uncomfortable.  But then the truth always does make certain people uncomfortable.

If you didn’t watch it, find time to do so.  If you don’t have time to do so, then don’t believe anything anybody tells you about it, including me.

As George Putnam used to say, “Here’s to a better stronger America.”

Opus 2026-104: Liberal Alert

When I opened my door to walk outside to begin my daily constitutional, I noticed that there was a liberal on my front porch.  He was a real lizard.  No, I mean an actual lizard.  The reason I know he was a liberal was because he wouldn’t move from his position, no matter how much I tried to nudge him.

I will concede that I never got violent.  I was rather gentle in my approach.  Maybe that was the problem.  I also noticed that later in the day when things got a little bit warmer, he was gone.

One of the ways to deal with liberals is to let the sun shine.  Face them with the light of truth.  Now they may only scurry off to hide in the tall grass, but at least they will get off your porch.

Opus 2026-004: Never Happy

I’ve been seeing a lot of people complaining recently because Congress isn’t doing anything.  There’s a lot of moaning and groaning about how they went home for Christmas without getting any bills passed.  What happened to the old idea that when the legislator was not in session we were safe from losing more of our liberties?

Could it be that one of the reasons nothing has been passed is because everything that is being presented is just another method of skimming off billions of dollars from the revenue of the government and putting it in the pockets of the corrupt and parasitical?  Could it be that buried in all of these bills that people are complaining aren’t getting passed are all kinds of little giveaways to the crony capitalists and their buddies in government?

Keep in mind that usually no bill is better than a bad bill.  Once something is passed it becomes immortal.  I think the income tax was going to be temporary.

Opus 2025-579: RIP

Recently, Dick Cheney went to his final reward.  I’m not wise enough to predict what that reward is.  What stood out to me was who was invited to the funeral and, even more so, who was not invited to the funeral.  If you want to get a look at the dividing line between those who want to make America great again and those who want to turn back clock to the rhino days, then just look at the invitation list to that event.

I haven’t gone over the list.  I assume there is one somewhere.  I know who I saw sitting in the first couple rows of the pictures, and I know who was very loudly proclaimed as not invited.  In case you were not paying attention that was Donald Trump.

The rhinos of the country want to go back to the days where the left is allowed to continually change the rules to fit what they want and employee law-fair and the media to intimidate anyone who has traditional values.  One of the great meme posters I’ve seen showed President Trump, looking at the camera, saying something to the effect that they are not really after him.  They are after us; it’s just that he’s in the way.  There’s some truth to that.  There’s a lot of truth to that.

Keep in mind that there are still many people in this world whose major moral position is “Orange Man bad.”  As they say in memes and such, they’d rather have no mean tweets that have stability, safety and recovery of the country. Maybe it would be a good thing if someday you were not invited to the funeral of a famous person.  It might be a compliment if you are banned from family holiday gatherings.

Opus 2025-498: Socialists Don’t Sweat

Why does socialism always fail?

I believe it was Margaret Thatcher, who put it in a nutshell when she said, “They always run out of other peoples money.”  Don’t let the word money get you distracted.  Money is just something that substitutes for items that you want to trade or barter.  So let’s just say that eventually the government runs out of other peoples assets.

To most of us that doesn’t mean anything.  We have credit cards, we have debit cards, we know what it is to get something for nothing.  Or we think we get it for nothing.  We have whole generations who don’t understand the central concept of credit that eventually you have to pay it back.  I remember a discussion between Charlie Kirk and Tucker Carlson.  Charlie was explaining to him that we have a whole generation of people who somehow have used up their credit, but they can go around the credit and order a pizza on the installment plan.  And so they do.  It’s constructed in such a way that it’s outside of the normal controls of credit cards and credit but it’s the same thing just under a different name.

So these people will order a pizza with the idea that they will pay for it and four installments.  Of course, the next day they want another pizza and the next day another pizza.  Because they have no concept of earning their own way, they keep digging deeper and deeper into debt.  In the real world, they will eventually run into a wall where the pizza delivery man will demand immediate payment and since they have no assets to give him, he will take the pizza back to the store.

It always amazes me how people don’t seem to understand, but not only do they have to pay back what they charge on their credit card, but there are extremely high interest rates that are attached if they stretch it out over a period of time.  And the person who will stretch it out over a period of time because they can’t pay it is the same person that will continue charging.

Now let’s look at the large economy.  Ultimately, there are only a few places where assets are developed.  I have heard some summarize it as growing food and mining ore.  They generally come at the cost of sweaty labor.  That sweaty labor is delivered by sweaty laborers.  In other words, someone has to produce the wheat that makes the pizza crust.  Someone else has to produce the bricks that make the oven in which the pizza is baked.  I would guess that a majority of people think that this is done by the little red hen and that instead of saying she would eat it herself she just continues to turn it over to those who have been taking naps.

Ultimately, the sweaty laborer is going to want to be paid.  He’s going to want to be reimbursed for the effort he’s put in.  He will want some assets in exchange for his sweat.  If society takes him for granted and refuses to pay because, after all, we’re in this together, he will eventually retreat to his truck garden where he is raising enough food for him and his family, and the wheatfield will become a weed field.

Then you have a deadly domino effect that kicks in.

First, the mills shut down because there’s no grain to grind.  Then the bakery shuts down because there’s no flour to make bread.  Of course that assumes that the bakers showed up and joined the sweaty masses.  Then the store shelves become empty because nobody is baking bread.  And then the masses riot because there is no bread.  All they see is the fact that the greedy grocery store is not supplying what they need, that the politicians are not delivering on their promises, that the rich are eating cake and caviar.  What they don’t see is that there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.

Can the socialist turn out the army to force the sweaty laborers in the field to produce grain?  Possibly for a while.  The problem is that the sweaty laborer who is being amply rewarded for his work will put in that little extra something which produces the profit margin that becomes the asset that can be passed on.  The sweaty laborer who is compelled to work by the bayonet will take a nap every time his minder looks the other way.  Being clever as well as sweaty he will mix in some sand or dirt with the grain in the bag put it on the truck and go home to dinner, if they left anything for him to eat.  If they didn’t leave him anything to eat he will get weaker and starve to death, and there will be no sweaty laborers who know how to raise wheat.

You think this is just my imagination?  Then go look at how socialism worked in the Soviet Union when they starved the Ukrainian peasants to death.  Would you want a television made in a Soviet factory during those days?  It would make a nice paperweight and conversation piece but would be pretty much useless for entertainment.

In other words, socialism doesn’t work because lazy is the default setting in human beings.  Go back and read the story of The Little Red Hen.  When it was time to work, everyone had an excuse.  When it came time to eat, everyone had their napkin around their neck and a fork in their hand.  Unfortunately the little red hen was the one who had the bread and the lazy laborers did not have an army to take it away from her.

Socialism has never worked, and it will never work because you will never get to the place where people will give you according to their ability and only take according to their genuine need.

It is as obvious as it is simple.

Opus 2025-424: Election 2026: Elon Visionary

Did you ever stop to ask yourself if Elon Musk had the right idea but just went about it wrong?  I’m talking here regarding the click bait about him starting a new political party.  Was he just pulling a Trump troll?  Was he just seeing what kind of reactions he could get out of the media and the Trump haters?  Was he serious?

Like so many things he comes up with he is a couple steps ahead of everyone else.  Not being a political animal it’s possible that he was sincere, but didn’t realize it would not go far.  That doesn’t mean the idea is bad.  Keep in mind that the Federalist Party died out because it lost touch with the American people.  It was replaced by the Whig party.  That party died out for the same reason and was replaced by the Republicans.  The Republicans ran on the platform of free men, free land, and I believe free silver.  They got the first two.  They did away with slavery and they passed the Homestead act.

From the actions that we are seeing in the Republican Party it may be time to replace them.  It seems that the Republican Party is currently playing games in Congress to keep the president from appointing people during recess.  It seems like the Rinos are going overboard trying to block the things that we elected Trump to do.  It may be time for them to go.

I don’t see a Musk party, but I do see the possibilities of a MAGA party.  At the risk of sounding like I’ve turned my brain off and gone into socialist mode, I would say that the coming midterm elections should have only one litmus test for people who love this country.  That litmus test is “Do they support Donald Trump?”  I’m not calling for long-term, eternal, devotion to the Messiah of American politics.  I’m calling for an attempt to turn this country back towards an actual representative republic.  We need to get rid of the professionals and get people who love America and want to make it great.

We differ on different things.  I am not 100% supportive of everything Donald Trump wants to do.  I still think he spends too much.  I still remember that he pushed the vaccine at the beginning.  I could probably come up with other issues.  But he loves America and we need that.  I would suggest that this midterm be a MAGA event and that when we get to the next presidential election, we elect someone who is MAGA and possibly even start a MAGA party.

Radical change like this does not happen from the top down.  It starts by electing people to city councils, state offices, Congress, and anything else below the president.  When you have enough representation to show your serious, then you go for the big ticket.

Opus 2025-345: Two Circles

What is the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans?  Actually, that should be plural in the sense of differences.  There are many and today I want to talk about circles.

Democrats and Republicans respond differently to attacks and opposition.  Both form circles but the circles are totally different.

When the Democrats go into a circle, it’s like the wagon trains in the old westerns.  They make a big circle, ring the cattle inside and point their guns outward at the danger.  They don’t care if they were arguing yesterday.  They don’t care if they come from different places and don’t know each other.  They know who the enemy is and they know who is on their side.

The Republicans on the other hand, when faced with danger, or simply controversy form their circle as a firing squad.  Instead of pointing out at the real enemy, they point their guns toward the center.  Whoever is the current person that has offended them becomes the focus of their attack.  What they continue to forget is the fourth law of gun safety and that is to be aware of what is behind your target.  Their accuracy is similar to that of police officers who fire forty rounds and miss every time which means that they fail to damage the offender but wipe out their allies.

For an example of how the Democrats function take the issue of a brain dead president.  It was obvious to anybody paying attention.  He was incompetent and couldn’t even walk across the stage without somebody to guide him.  The Democrats instead of acknowledging the problem formed a circle around him and found a way to attack anyone who brought the issue up.

Now take the issue of the disagreement between Elon Musk and Donald Trump or the Epstein issue.  Not only did the media have a field day but Republicans jumped on.  All of the rhinos came out of the woodwork.  All of them never Trumper’s who have pulled the camouflage netting over their attitudes started finding ways to sneak in little jabs.

Democrats who step out of line are put on a list and it becomes very clear to them if they don’t get back on board it’s over for them.  In many cases, it’s already over for him.  Republicans on the other hand are called for the talk shows, put on committees, and maybe talked about is the next president.

We need to get serious about the culture wars.

Opus 2025-290: Remember Fort Sumter

We’ve had a lot of talk over the past couple years about the potential for another Civil War.  The left has been pushing with all their might trying to get people on the right to their flash point.  They believed their own propaganda about red necks and Bible believers.

I wonder if the left is tired of waiting and we are beginning to see them move towards the violence they have tried to generate.  I wonder if they are collectively ready to cross the line of  defiance that triggers the federal government.  Is Los Angeles the new Fort Sumter?  These riots could be the first step.  President Trump has mobilized the National Guard.  He’s brought out the Marines.  Instead of calming down it seems like the left is doubling down.  They are threatening to go on tour.  I was told they were advertising for paid positions as protestors in a city my friends live in.  Reports are that San Francisco is on the verge.  They have plans to start riots all over the country.

What do you do if someone starts a war and nobody comes?  That is one of the silly questions of the 60's.  Actually, we’re kind of seeing that kind of thing in England where people are not even allowed to defend themselves.  What happens when the forces of tyranny and chaos come into your neighborhood to your front door?  What happens when the large numbers of young men who were brought into the country to start an insurrection actually start the insurrection?

We may see the federal government pushing back against the forces of destruction.  They were expecting to get conservative citizens to rise up.  Instead the liberals have exploded and are asking to be slapped down.  How far will this go?  As long as I live in the hill country of Texas and don’t go into the blue cities I think I will be untouched.  If they decide to bring it to us then I hope there are enough American citizens ready to protect their families.  

Pray for peace but not at any price.

Opus 2025-282: Headlines: The Great Divide

All the rush today is about the split between Musk and Trump.  They have had a falling out.  Verbal attacks have been exchanged.  The end is near.

Balderdash.

Keep in mind a few things.  The first is Fake News and the technique of editing.  Have Musk and Trump had words?  Probably.  Is it as big a deal as the media wants it to be?  Probably not.  My wife made me sit and watch a bit of Fox on the topic.  What struck me was that most of the quotes were carefully edited and most of the interviews were with Democrats who hate Trump.  They also hate Musk almost as much.  Take the reporting with a grain of salt.  The goal is ratings and ad revenue, not truth.

Second, keep in mind that you are dealing with two men who are quite open about speaking their mind.  Neither one got where they are by being diplomatic.  I seriously doubt this is the first time they have knocked heads.  It is just the first time we have heard about it.  Both are used to getting back on the horse and having the end goal in mind.

Third, they are both right.  Musk seems to be upset because congress is doing nothing about all the cuts he has clearly earmarked.  He is right.  They are playing politics and trying to work with a congress controlled by Rinos.  Trump has things that are necessary to get done and the only way he can get them is to try to work with a congress controlled by Rinos.  If you are a praying person pray that they both get what they want.

Fourth, and probably most important, both men love American and really want to see it great again.  That is a quality that makes it possible to overlook a lot of faults.

In the end it will come down to MAGA.  Buckle up and don’t make any bets.

Opus 2025-147: Three Cheers for Al

Most of America is aware of how congressman Al Green made a fool of himself during the president’s recent speech.  At the time I had some very primeval urges that I wished to express to him.  Upon reflection I think I would rather thank him.

Until this last time that the Democrats gained control of everything there was a charade played in the halls of government.  It involved courtesy and decorum.  It was useful in being able to discuss things but rather superficial in that no one really listened.  It became a little fantasy play put on by people who enjoyed the acting.

Al Green was the ringleader for the theatrics of the Democrats.  He had quite a supporting cast.  They played it to the hilt.  I guess you could say the Republicans did their part by rubbing it in.  They repeatedly stood to applaud and figuratively say, “Na, na, na, na.”  Since there are so many Rinos I am not sure that the sincerity and honesty award would not go to the Democrats.

Give us more.  The clarity that came through from the Democrats was refreshing.  I can see them not wanting to clap for the parents of murdered children.  To do so would admit their own culpability.  I can’t figure why they would not stand and cheer for a boy who is struggling with brain cancer and had a dream fulfilled.  My conclusion was that it was another moment of honesty for them, but then I am biased.

I guess it explains why most of the speeches you see on the internet are really given to an empty chamber.

Opus 2025-126: Of Two Minds

I think there are two attitudes that we should have at the forefront of her thinking right now.  The first is rejoicing.  The country seems to be moving again.  People seem to be gathering their optimism and deciding to invest in the future.  We see a lot of good things happening at the top, or should I say we hear a lot of things that should be happening at the top.

Be optimistic.

At the same time, a healthy dose of skepticism and a few grains of salt are always in order.  Examine what is being proposed.  Don’t assume that Donald Trump is God or that he is mistake free.  We all know he’s not.  He knows he isn’t.  What we also know is that he loves the country and for a billionaire has a real place in his heart for common people.  But again, hold his feet to the fire.

And at the center of this is that admonition to keep praying.  Don’t stop now.  And as you pray for him, pray for the churches of America that the pastors in the pulpit would wake up and smell the Rose of Sharon.  Pray that the believers in this country would actually start to believe and apply that belief to their daily lives.  If you are a believer, then live like you’re a part of the people of God in a nation that is not chosen by God, but has been blessed by God.  Pray that he blesses, not so that we can have personal security, but so that we can be a continued force for righteousness in the world.

Just as important, keep speaking up.  Keep standing up.  I keep coming across that term “psyops” which means that the press and the “influencers” are going to keep trying to undermine everything that Trump wants to do.  Keep in mind that as much as they smile, and as much as they look like they’d love some chocolate chip ice cream, most of them are Marxists at heart and hate America.  They will lie about anything in order to drag us down and make us a Third World country with a bunch of elite socialists in charge.  So keep speaking up.  Let the world know that you support the good things that are going on without abandoning your principles.

The future is still open.

Opus 2025-091: Awesome Asides

I’m watching a short clip of a recent press briefing.  I am going to need to learn the name of this press secretary without looking it up.  Karoline Leavitt was answering the question of a reporter, she paused, and in a kind of theatrical voice, said “As you well know”.  She then went on with her answer without a flicker.

I love it.  Keep it up.  Your answer was fine, but the best part was that little aside which should have slapped this character upside the head and said, “Grow up, go back to your desk, write a sincere and intelligent question, and come see me when you’re ready to go again.”

Unfortunately he probably didn’t even notice.  Maybe some of the new voices in the press pool will start snickering at him and he will wise up.

Opus 2025-067: You Should Believe in Miracles

It looks like we might not descend into chaos as a nation.  We have had a successful transfer of power between groups of people who seriously disagree on almost everything.  We did it again without shooting or armies in the streets.  We did it without the Air Force generals trying to bomb the Marines.  This is an American miracle, the transfer of power in peace.

During my lifetime I have seen this kind of extreme before.  It last happened when Jimmy Carter turned over the reigns to Ronald Reagan.  I remember the rumors that flowed as the older Bush left office and how we were supposed to have a revolution when Clinton came in and another when he went out.  Conspiracy never takes a day off.  Part of the American genius is that the nation as a whole would not settle for such rituals.

That does not mean that currently the cabal running the Biden administration did not do everything they could to tie the hands of the incoming Trump.  I doubt if this is the first time such things have happened.  Way back in 1803 when the Federalists were leaving power they tried to appoint a bunch of their judges before Jefferson took the oath.  Down through history it has been a pattern.  

I would be willing to guess that the current crop of traps and handcuffs set a new record for obstruction.  Take the smothering of our justice system by the thousands of pardons that Joe Biden issued.  And what about the preemptive pardons?  Who ever heard of such a thing?  Who ever would imagine doing such a thing?  I guess the Democrats would.  If you have been following the click bait, you have been a witness to major league obstruction and attempts to violate the spirit of the republic.  

Let us hope that the republic and the Constitution are strong enough to surface and move forward.

Opus 2025-063: Pentecostal Pep Rally’s

I can almost guarantee that you will never see me at one of the Trump rallies.  I’m glad that they’re happening.  I am enthused about the ideas that Donald Trump is bringing to the presidency and the country.  I plan on supporting him.

Just don’t expect me to stand in the middle of a crowd, screaming, waving my arms, and generally sacrificing my dignity.  There are many things I can enjoy without immersing myself in them.  I don’t need to play in the mud to enjoy watching my grandchildren.  I will never get on a motorcycle and go jumping over obstacles.  I am sure you have your own list.

If you want to go and cheer, I encourage you.  I will endorse the behavior.  Just don’t expect me to join you.

Opus 2025-060: Which Title

Two songs are going through my mind this morning. The first one starts off, “Creation shows the power of God.  There’s glory all around…”  The chorus begins, “I believe in miracles.”  I’m thinking of that as the title.  The other song going through my mind is a popular song which starts off, “Do you believe in magic?”  Take it either way, miracles or magic.  We just saw that demonstrated on January 20.

Many of us were worried about what the elite cabal that controlled the Biden administration might be planning on pulling during that day.  They were all kinds of conspiracy theories.  At this point, everyone will laugh at them, and pat the conspiracy theorists on the head.  What we will never know is how many of those potential conspiracies were actually considered by the left.  Were they really thinking assassination?  Were they really thinking of some massive explosion to wipe out the leaders of the nation?  I was very nervous as I watched multiple times that both President Trump and JD Vance were standing just a few feet apart.

Did we dodged a bullet?  Was there a bullet to be dodged?  It’s time to consider miracles or magic.  I personally will go with miracles.  One of my theories is that we are surrounded by miracles all the time, but we don’t notice them because we think that’s the way things are supposed to happen.  Sometimes when I’m driving on the interstate across country and see all of these cars rushing to wherever they think they have to be and I noticed how few are broken down by the side of the road.  I wonder why there aren’t more accidents.  So many things I wonder about, and in reality, it may be just that the hand of God is causing multiple miracles in order to reduce the amount of mayhem that we are able to produce.

We made it through the inauguration.  How many plots were foiled by faithful civil servants in the Secret Service, sheriffs department, capital police or any other Agency involved in protecting the president and the country.  There seem to have been enough serious about their responsibility to do the job.  I thank them.

Do you believe in magic?  I don’t.  But I do believe in miracles.  Bismarck is quoted as saying, “God has a special providence for fools, drunkards, and the United States of America.”  I can live with that.

Opus 2025-051: Clickbait: Good Timing

As I was scrolling through the You Tube Clickbait I came across this announcement:

Former Clinton Pollster Mark Penn Absolutely SAVAGES Joe Biden Over Last Minute Pardons: ‘The Last Straw’

How timely.  You wait until your epiphany will make absolutely no difference and suddenly you see the light.  Is it honesty and insight speaking or just a concern about your future?  

I have seen several comments about how people who have been savaging Trump for years are now lining up to lick his boots.  Most of the names I don’t know but the phenomenon would not surprise me.  My hope is that Trump has learned his lesson.  I hope he will be courteous enough to get them to support America for the brief time their repentance lasts but will not give them the keys to the liquor cabinet.  I hope he has learned how to deal with the lizards even if they took a shower after climbing out of the swamp.

Pray for humility and wisdom to be granted to Donald Trump.
