Recently I was part of a discussion about the proposal to ban large corporations from buying single family homes. I was a very small part. I can remain quiet when the situation dictates it. We had nine men in the group and several had a lot to say. Most of my insight was kept for my own counsel. Maybe I will get a chance another day.
It is amazing how quickly people abandon the concept of free enterprise. The destructive force of government trying to solve people’s problems is forgotten before the paint dries. Think of previous government attempts to provide “affordable housing”. Does rent control sound familiar? Have you ever walked through a housing project? Do zoning laws make things better?
The answer to problems that people face is never more government programs or plans. I doubt if there has ever been a government program that made things better or avoided criminal levels of mismanagement and graft.
We hear about how identity politics is based on envy. We rouse the same sentiments in ourselves at the drop of a hat. To repeat a frequent sentiment, be careful what you wish for.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
