Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2026-359: Sudden Letdown

It’s a good thing that I’m not in the dating market anymore.  I never was a great success at it but that is not the issue.  I am afraid that as what I have to offer has gone down my standards have gone up.

As I was doing some shopping at the grocery store I was doing my usual people watching.  It is amazing how many strange people there are out in public.  There are others who stand out in a pleasant way.  I saw one young lady who was attractive at first glance.  As I was heading for the cashier she showed up again.  She seemed to have everything until she walked in front of me and I saw the back of her arm where she had a tattoo.  I suddenly developed a real pity for her.  Why do attractive people decorate themselves with ugliness?

I know it is a hangup I have.  In my daughter’s church there are many godly people with more tattoos than should be legal.  They are still good parents and productive citizens.  You would think I would learn by that but it doesn’t seem to be happening.

Maybe I should get one as a form of penance.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
