Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2015-156: The Question of “Traitor?” Keeps Coming Up

If you need a moment of humor check out Hope and Change.  The offering I read recently made a backhanded inference that President Obama was viewed as a traitor by many who love America and many who hate America.  One mourns and the other celebrates.

Is Barak Obama a traitor?  Treason is defined in the Constitution of the United States, Article 3, Section 3.
“Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”
Is Obama guilty of treason?  I recently had several posts about dumb questions.  I should add this one to the list.

I have lived under presidents I would label as “bad” presidents.  Clinton was a criminal and a pervert but I don’t think he deliberately tried to bring the country down.  Jimmy Carter was, and is, a fool but I think he seriously believed he was working for progress.  I have criticisms of many but this is the first time I have ever believed that a president of the United States felt like his goal in life was to destroy the nation.

If you need a lift after that, go check out the cartoon.  And read the post below it.  My favorite line was toward the end.
“As one wit observed, ‘pass it to see what's in it’ is the definition of a stool sample.”
I wish I would have come up with that one.

    1. If you find out, let me know. Meanwhile, keep a paper copy of the Constitution locked away somewhere so that future generations will know what it said before they developed software to change it everywhere on the internet.

      Grace and peace.

  2. Did yoy hear about the conspiracy theory that Obama was an extremist Muslim trying to bankrupt America's economy. This theory must've come from the same people who thought Bush was a lizard.

    1. I have heard a lot of conspiracy theories. The one about the lizard I missed, but then I don't use social media or try to trip old people.

The difference to me is that while I have know that Obama spent a large part of his youth in a Muslim country, attending a Muslim school, with a Muslim step-father and I have seen him spend like a Republican congress, I have never seen Bush lose his tail.

On the other side, both of them have claimed that Islam is a religion of peace.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
