I’m thinking here of trying to address why we explain some things more readily than others. Some truth is easy to explain. It’s ready. It’s right out there in front. I would call that convergent truth. An example of that would be the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is very clearly stated there is no wiggle room.
Our divergent truth might be something like the divinity of Christ and the Trinity. These are spelled out in different places, and you have to go and get those places then bring them together. They become issues because the different places in scripture don’t seem to jive with each other. Take for instance when it says God is one. Another place that talks about the Father. Another place who talks about Jesus as God. And so forth
The dual nature of Jesus would be another example. How do you explain these things because there is no place where it says or Paul says, “I’m now going to explain to you the incarnation.” It doesn’t happen. So when you see things like this that don’t add up, you need to go look for answers and solutions. Another area of divergent truth, which is hard to deal with is the fact that the Bible seems to say that God does not change and other places it talks about him changing. You have to dig to find answers to these questions.
Keep digging.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
