Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2025-602: Vanilla Survives Ben & Jerry’s

Who would have thought that after all the attention getting flavors that Ben & Jerry’s came up with that vanilla ice cream would still survive?  For that matter I wonder if strawberry is still the favorite flavor in the country?  How can this be?  I just had a cup of vanilla ice cream last night from a Texas company and enjoyed every bite of it.

Really good things, the basics, the pure stuff will always endure past gimmicks and the flavors of the month.  That’s why I can continue reveling in worshiping the one true God, the great I AM.

You see God never changes in his basic character and attributes.  I know as I look at that character and those attributes, I continually find new depths to look into or old shallows that refresh and renew.  There is a dynamic here.  I can just walk out on the porch in the dark sit down with my coffee cup, look up at the sky and say “Good morning Lord,” and know that all is well.

There is a gospel song that starts off,

What a fellowship,
What a joy Divine.
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Notice that is not a question but a declaration. I plan on making this another year of leaning.

Happy new year.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
