Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2026-493: George Carlin Was Wrong

I often have a good chuckle with others when we quote the immortal words of George Carlin, “Remember half the people are below average.”  After observing the current election in Texas and the rest of the country I am ready to declare him wrong.  I would adjust the bell curve and move the peak two standard deviations to the left.  I don’t know what the percentage would be but it is obvious much more than half the people are below average.

I come from California.  I know what a state is like when it is controlled by Democrats.  I am totally mystified why people in Texas would vote for any democrat, let alone one as evil as James Talarico.  Texas has been the envy of free Americans for thirty years.  The economy is booming.  The second amendment is respected.  It is the place that the businesses were moving to as they flee the blue.  As a result people vote to repeat that story here.

I have no doubt that the people of Texas will suffer from the results.  Being so low on the bell curve they will probably still blame Trump.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
