How do we find what’s really going on in the world around us. Going through an election year gives us a perfect example of how we should be sifting the information given to us. Everyone pretty much agrees that the polls are nonsense. They don’t reflect reality. We know that the headlines are often blatant lies, if not subtle distortions. Don’t be surprised.
Keep in mind we are seeing two things that are coming together to bless the America haters. On the one hand, you have history. Historically, the party that is not in power tends to lose elections for Congress and local positions. That’s well documented. Everyone is aware of that. It’s a pretty safe bet to put your money on there being some real changes as far as the letters D and R. It doesn’t take a great editor to know that’s coming.
Couple that with the deep seated desire of their heart. Because they want it to be true, they proclaim it to be true. It’s like the two year-old when you call him a baby, declaring, “I’m not a baby, I’m a big boy.” The fact of the matter is if he waits long enough, he will become a big boy. That doesn’t change the reality now. The news media, people who are allowed to publish on YouTube and just about every bit of Clickbait that you see is molded on a conviction that they have to do everything they can for victory.
Will the polls be right? There’s not a chance of that happening as far as accuracy goes. They may be on the right side of who’s going to win but instead of the 12% they predict it maybe just one percent and even that will depend upon cheating going on at the polling places. So their predictions will correspond with the announced results. That doesn’t mean they were right it just means that they won.
All we can do short of insurrection, is keep standin, tall, voting, speaking out, and of course, don’t forget to be praying that God would move in a miraculous way.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
