Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-314: Headlines: Vaya con Diablo

I hope I didn’t see you on the TV, dancing in the street over the death of Fidel Castro.  Keep in mind that he has now crossed that line and is already well on the way to his eternal destiny.  I would not wish it on anyone but if there is a select list of modern people who are getting what they deserve, he is on that list.

If I were a Cuban exile in Florida I might be dancing.  If you are a Cuban exile in Florida I can understand.  But keep in mind the poison he excreted is not gone with his passing.  There is still an infrastructure of evil that will continue long after he can’t sign any death warrants.  It is time to pray for the people of Cuba.  They will only find relief when enough of them decide they have had enough.

So let the crazy people of the world celebrate the way they did on 911 and when the people were massacred in San Bernardino and Paris.  It may be necessary to deal harshly with evil but we don’t need to make a circus out of it.

The world is a slightly better place today but get ready for the Castro t-shirts that will soon go on sale.

    1. Too bad it wasn't 2000 but certainly better than 2017.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
