Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-305: On the Street: America Goes to Work

Don’t worry about the snowflakes in the street, America is on its way to work, millions of us.

I dropped my wife off at the airport yesterday morning before 5:00 A.M.  Then I took the freeway and headed to work.  It was amazing.  At 5:00 A.M. when I stopped to get a cup of coffee at an AM/PM I had a hard time finding a parking place.  The working people of America were getting caffeined up for the day.  When I entered the freeway it was moving at about 50 mph but already heavily loaded with traffic.  At a few points we came to a full stop.  At 5:00 A.M.

These people were not on their way to protest an election.  Since this is California I am sure that a majority were not happy with the results but they were still on their way to work.  They had jobs, families to support and taxes to pay.  They did not have time for whining.  They might complain but they still had to keep the country moving.

So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.  America is still on its way to work.

  1. It's too early in the morning for them to protest.

    1. Maybe we could pass a law mandating that all welfare checks be handed out at 4:00 A.M. No, that would not work because then the social workers would be forced to get up early.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
