Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2015-226: Rewriting History, One Touch at a Time

I was enjoying the humor of Hope and Change but I found the pictures of the president a little disturbing.  The comments on the post asked the same question I had.  Is he really touching the artifacts?  It seems he was.
“Specifically, officials in Ethiopia brought the fossilized bones of Lucy (Australopithecus afarensis) to their national palace for Barack Obama (Halfricanus offensivus) to poke and prod with his booger-hunting finger, which should lead to some pretty confusing DNA analysis in the future.”
It seems that the smartest president we have ever had doesn’t understand that there are certain things you are not supposed to touch.  Sure they put them out without glass over them.  They made the mistake of thinking he knew better.  They made the mistake of thinking he cared.  They made the mistake of expecting him to have the decency to keep his greasy fingers off the unique specimens.

It seems that his goal of fundamentally remaking the United States into a socialist paradise extends to fundamentally remaking what anthropologists learn from old bones and fossils.  The validity of ancient specimens can be compromised by the oil in our skin and even the air we exhale.  Many mistakes in dating remains have been made simply because someone was smoking in the area.

Send the man back to grade school and put the signs back up that say, “Please do not touch.  This means you.”

    1. Normal Americans keep being willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. We are like Charlie Brown trusting Lucy to hold the football.

      Grace and peace.

  2. I suspect he just feels that the rules don't apply to him, he's too important. At least that's the attitude he seems to have here at home.

    1. I guess when the adoring media keep telling you that you are smarter than the average bear, you start to believe it, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
