Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2020-324: Old and Young: Lending a Hand

I was our following my granddaughter around the yard.  The house is new to her and she has not explored it fully yet.  We added to her mapping.  There were porches on front and back that needed to be visited, repeatedly.  She developed a pattern.  She would boldly take the first step and then look around for my hand.  Awwwww, how cute.  It is.

It also reminded me that I am getting to the place in life where I am going to be looking for a hand or at least a handrail.  I wondered how much longer I would be able to give her the help she needs.  How much longer would I be more stable that she is?  I am hoping I hold on until her younger brother gets past the give-me-a-hand stage.  I have already caught my son reaching out a hand to make sure I am stable.

Life has been good and continues to bless.

  1. It's good when a younger family member can be depended on; so many can't be. I had to call my stepson yesterday when I couldn't get my wife back on her feet after "sinking down" (not falling) on the front porch. He was here as soon as the speed limits allowed him.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
