Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2020-304: Headlines: Escape from New York

You may have been reading about how major businesses are fleeing New York.  I think they are just trying to be like Rush Limbaugh.  The latest I am hearing about is Goldman Sachs and their target is Florida.

I think this is a really bad idea.

All the conservative types see is the destruction of the tax base in NYC and the movement of lots of jobs and taxes to red states.  That sounds really good but coming with all that money is a blue mentality.  Large number of blue voters will now be forced to move to red states in order to preserve their exclusive life styles.  They have been living so high on the hog that they are totally oblivious to the way their politics ruins life for everyone else.  Moving to Texas or Florida will not make them suddenly sensitive to the fact that socialism brings poverty and suffering to the general population.  They will not become aware of simple things like cause and effect.  It will not negate their lack of economic understanding.  They will continue to be paid well and live in gated compounds.

Not only will they finalize the death of NYC, California, Seattle and others but they will begin the destruction of their target states.  We have gotten along fine without them up until now.  Our states are thriving.  I am concerned that will change.

Moving bad apples from a rotten barrel to a healthy barrel does not go well for the good apples.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
