As I was enjoying the wild flowers this week I was trying to name the colors. There was one that I was trying to put a name on and the term Scarlet Pimpernel came to mind? Scarlet Pimpernel? Where did that come from? As I thought about it I could remember that several times in my life I could have expounded on the term. I would then forget it and next time I needed it, look it up again. Where did the memory go?
I find there is a growing list of terms and body of knowledge that I don’t seem to think is worth remembering. What are the words to “I’m a little teapot”? Since I have a granddaughter it might be something I put back in my memory box. I still know my social security number but there are very few telephone numbers I bother retaining. Certain streets in cities I lived in never made it into my daily recall.
“Thanks for the Memories” should become the theme song for all us elderly. So far I am good with it. The difficult time will be when I can’t remember that I ever knew it. Of course if I don’t remember that I forgot then I won’t know the difference.
I hope I haven’t said all this before.

I'm 82 but I still remember this one:"I'm a little teapot, short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout. When I get all steamed up hear me shout- tip me over and pour me out". Have fun. These days you will remember. Julia
