Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-306: Headlines: The Brainwashing Continues

It seems that there are two names that Donald Trump has mentioned as he looks to forming his leadership team.  Neither one of them are household gurus to me but one of them I am aware of.  That would be Steve Bannon but my awareness is limited to the fact that he headed up Breitbart and used that site to support Trump.  That in itself is the reason for the hysteria we are hearing about the man.

We are hearing that Bannon is a racist, bigot and an anti-Semite.  I keep hearing the gullible news people on conservative stations repeating the accusation as if it had some validity.  I don’t pretend to deep knowledge but I do know a couple of things:  The sources of the “information” and the intent of the reporting.

You usually need to read through the articles to find what a bunch of slander they represent.  At the beginning you see all the breathless accusations and how terrible this could be.  Toward the end you find the source of the accusations.  It seems that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are the architects of this expose.  If you feel you can believe anything these two say then I might suggest that you apply for an EBT card and subsidized housing because you obviously are in need.  The claim that he is anti-Semitic was made by his ex-wife.  I assume it was part of a bitter divorce where she was trying to get more alimony.  Not exactly gold standard sources but typical of today’s news reporters.

As for the intent; it is obvious.  Keep the big lie going.  Smear Trump with any vicious gossip you can come up with.  It doesn’t matter if there is any factual evidence, smear.

Again, I say I don’t know much about these people but if the left wing press and the anti-American politicians are so worried about them they must have something the country needs.  Maybe we will get some real reporting eventually.

I trust that Trump will continue to mock these so called “news” people and get on with business.

    1. I am not spending a lot of time researching it but the only criticism I am hearing is coming from the people who voted for the loser. Or maybe they are like the protestors and didn't even vote.

      Grace and peace.

  2. I believe the media will keep lying, the gullible will keep believing, and the wise will pay less and less attention to the MSM

    1. I find a useful source in the propaganda put out by the teachers' union. I just do the opposite and it seems to put me on the side of the angels.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
