Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-16: Ode to Old: My Adapt Has Gone Flat

Old people have been good at adapting to new technology.  We have been willing to change and move forward for decades.  What technologies have I adapted to?  My mind started down memory lane.

TV, yes I am that old
Microwave
Automatic coffee maker
French press coffee maker
Dishwashers
Garbage disposals
Air Conditioning
Computers, from C/PM to Linux
Flash drives (after disks and Zip)
Internet (Dial up and all of the upgrades)
Rotary dial to push button phones
Cell Phones of every variation
I-Pod
Bluetooth
DVD/CD format
Cassette tapes
Ear phones
Calculators
Bells and whistles on my cars:  Electric doors and windows, remote locks, solid state ignition

New items are occurring to me all the time but why bother going on.

One reason that we don’t seem ready to try something new is that we have enough experience and wisdom to realize the “new” is either just resurrected “old” or else it isn’t worth the bother.  The problem may also be that we only have so many adaptations built into us and there comes a time when we are adapted out.

Either way, I am not interested in Facebook.  It is already on the way out from what I hear at school.

I will spend my time trying to figure out Medicare.

    1. My wife has been pretty good dealing with the insurance companies. It remains to be seen if she can whip the government into shape.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
