It would be a terrible thing if a bunch of Trump supporters broke into the capitol and attacked the police.
The big word in that sentence is “if”. The problem is that with the Fake News reporting, Social media censoring, and Rinos cooperating, we may never know what really happened in D.C. Violence is not in character for Trump Supporters. For whom would it be consistent? Antifa and BLM. So whom do we see leading the charge and breaking windows? Could that be Antifa goons we see in the photos and videos? You can find them if you look. Evidently the media doesn’t look.
The rot in the republic is deep and pervasive. I have not bothered following all the Fake News but I have not seen any evidence of looting, arson and mayhem that are a part of what is called “mostly peaceful protest”. Instead I see a few people wandering around like someone left the door open to Disneyland.
We had at least one Trump supporter killed in the confusion. Where are the videos showing this happening? Was it the police or a closet Antifa commando who did the deed? Where is the outcry about police brutality? Was she beating up an old Biden supporter? Did she have a flaming bottle full of gas in her hand? Was her big crime a MAGA hat?
A lot of questions that will not be answered. Even if I hear about the answers I will keep my hat of scepticism on because I don’t expect to get clarification on the “if”.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2021-013: Headlines: Busted
Have you seen the big arrest made by the FBI? According to Newsweek, it seems that the man sitting at Nancy Pelosi’s desk has been arrested and identified. It only took two days. That is amazing police work. In a nation of 320,000,000 the Justice Department was able to identify and arrest this guy.
It kind of makes you wonder though, how about all the looters, assaulters and arsonists that have been destroying cities for the past year? What is the hold up there? How about all of the evidence for voter fraud? Where is the FBI?
The frustration knows no bounds. The double standard for justice accelerates. Should the guy have been arrested? I guess so. But then I think that the law applies to us too. I wish our betters shared that view.

Opus 2021-012: Don’t Make the Queen Mad
I am not a fan of Alice in Wonderland but I notice a strange similarity between modern Progressives* and the Queen of Hearts. Her most famous quote is, “Off with their heads.” That seems to be the response of the left to anyone who does not jump on command.
There are numerous headlines about making lists of everyone who has been a Trump supporter. There are calls to kick out Republican Senators. One headline called for all Trump supporters to be sent to camps.
Censorship is not just being threatened but put into motion on many levels. The President has been banned. Don Bongino has been banned. Many of you have seen it start with editorial comments at the bottom of what you read. I have been trying to reach the Citizen Free Press all day and all I get is a Sorry page.
Every time I go to a news site I see more censorship and assaults on freedom by the Progressives*. According to the Daily Caller General Flynn has been booted off Twitter. The Walk Away Movement has been deleted from Facebook.
The left feels they are in total charge. They are right in the sense of controlling all the reins of power granted by the Government. They have bribed, threatened and attacked anyone that disagrees with them. Welcome to the advent of the Progressives*. You have heard references to the brown shirts of the National Socialists. Their grandchildren are now running our government.
You have seen it said before, I will repeat it: If they can do this to the President just imagine what they can do to you. Remember, it is your head they are calling for. They just haven’t gotten far enough down their list to come to your name.

Opus 2021-011: It’s Not Baseball
I feel betrayed. The betrayal was not by President Trump. He is still at the top of my list for leadership. It isn’t even all the obvious Rinos in congress. Mitch McConnell is just continuing to be Mitch. Lindsey Graham continues to be Lindsey. I expect them to let the country down when their person fiefs were threatened. The betrayal is from two guys I worked to get reelected: John Cornyn and Chip Roy.
They have done a lot of positive things in voting. I will concede that. They claim to be solid conservatives, yet when the moment of truth came, they were AWOL. It turns out there were only six senators who had the courage to stand up for honest elections and truth. John Cornyn was not one of them. Neither was Chip Roy in the House of Representatives.
I did not expect the objections to be honored. I knew it was a losing cause. What I was hoping for was the knowledge that the people who represented me at least wanted to stop the steal. In a sense I got what I really needed and that is a list of who understands the stakes and who is just playing along.
Last election I spent three afternoons a week volunteering at our county Republican headquarters. I encouraged people to vote for Trump, Cornyn and Roy. Trump has always followed through on his pledges. I guess one out of three is something. It would be if it was my batting average. Not so much in issues involving liberty.
I wish they had spent a little more time thinking about Franklin’s answer to what kind of country we would have, “A republic, if you can keep it.” The keeping is in doubt at this point.

Opus 2021-010: Orange Privilege
I wonder if the PC police will insist on replacing the word “trump” in card games. It does not fit in with the cancel culture.
I think it is some coincidence that the man who seems to offend everyone is named Trump. It is also the suit which can take any other color. A low trump can gather in a high non-trump. When you play some games you “call trump”.
This is a situation that can no longer be allowed. It is a case of Orange Privilege. Those who are oppressed and suppressed by not being orange are being asked to bear an unacceptable burden.
It is time for the PC police to do their job.

Opus 2021-009: The Peasants Are Revolting
Would the various peasant revolts and slave rebellions of history have been successful in a republic? I did a Google search on “peasant revolts” thinking I would find a few and Wikipedia gave me a list that just kept on scrolling. It was color coded to show success, failure and ongoing uncertainty. The list started with the Anti-Qin revolts in China around 200 BC and ended up with the Zapatistas in Mexico in 1994. The overwhelming result was defeat for the peasants. What was interesting to me during a quick scrolling was that most of the successful revolts took place in China. Keep in mind this is Wikipedia, so consider the source.
The peasants usually had the numbers and commitment. They sometimes could acquire arms. They even had some leaders with experience. Why did they always lose? Loyalty and oaths.
One item common in Feudal systems and monarchies is that the average soldier has made a commitment and sworn an oath to the person directly above them. It was the way the entire system held together. People were not loyal to a political structure. They were loyal to a person, and the commitment went both ways in theory. They traded loyalty for protection. In the feudal systems the man at arms was serving his lord, not the country or even the king.
In monarchies the rank and file is loyal to the king, not the state. Once again the loyalty is to the person but it goes beyond one level of people. This is one of the reasons why kings were the enemies of the nobility. It is why the common people and cities tended to side with the king. He gave them protection from overbearing Dukes, Earls, Barons and so forth.
In dictatorships they swear to support the fearless leader. It is very similar to monarchy.
In the American republic the military takes an oath to protect and support the Constitution, not the president or general. Their oath is not to any one person. It is not even to the state. It is to the political contract created by the Founders and based on the idea that our rights are not given by government. There is an organization called Oath Keepers. They are a group of people who took the oath to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” This is a part of the oaths taken by people inducted into the military and, surprisingly, by United States Senators also.
In the spirit of Fake News and Progressive editing of our history, Wikipedia labels this group as “an American far-right anti-government militia organization.” Keep in mind that the people who control your education also feel that loyalty to the Constitution is a right wing hate concept.
Of course, in a republic the politicians and judges take the same oath. How has that been working out? If all falls apart, the question will be whom the rank and file soldier will support. My fervent hope is that we find a way to work through the current controversy and reestablish the rule of law. If it comes to another peasant revolt the big question is whether the modern men at arms will be loyal to their minders or to their oath.
I hope I never find out.

Opus 2021-008: Headlines: Nice Hat There
When I turned on the radio while returning from the store I heard the hushed voices of reporters trying to suppress their glee at something that was happening. Eventually I realized that there was some violence at the big rally in Washington, D.C. As I listened it just did not add up to me. Trump supporters do not act like this. It sounded more like the actions of Antifa. The Fake News Fellows of Fox never even brought up the possibility. They did ask why Trump did not tell his supporters to go home. Strange. I don’t remember any comments like that when Antifa and BLM were destroying American cities.
I quit listening because it became obvious I would get nothing accurate from the radio. When I got home I started looking around. It was hard to get anything different. Finally I got to DB Daily Update who had some real information that everyone else seemed to be ignoring. If you go to the post you will see photographs of the people leading the break-in. And would you believe it, one photo shows one of them had an Antifa tattoo on his hand. Another guy wearing a horned headdress was previously pictured participating in a BLM riot. Surprise. Surprise.
When looking at pictures on other sites I saw something I had never seen before. The “protestors” confronting the police had on MAGA hats but were wearing them backward. That also seemed weird to me but no Fake News Fellow seemed to notice. At the DB site they explained. They show what I assume is a Tweet dated November 10 that Antifa operatives were told to dress like Trump supporters but to wear their hats backward for identification.
So far I have seen no one that is calling the spade a spade.
I will wait, but I am getting old. I don’t have much time.
