I
appreciate my retirement the most when I have morning appointments
that give me deadlines. I have grown accustomed to getting up when I
feel like it and knowing I have all the time in the world to do what
I need to do. Of course it helped that I was getting up at 5:00 AM
without an alarm.
Now with the change in the amount of
daylight I find myself going to bed later which means I get up later.
Recent doctor’s appointments and breakfasts with my son have
reminded me that the rest of the world does not run on my schedule.
I had forgotten that there was heavy traffic in the morning.
I
am enjoying being retired. When I have reminders of the working
class I am even more happy with the way things are. So if you are
still working, blessings. Make lots of money so you can pay lots of
taxes and keep Medicare going.
I will try to leave
something for you.

Hello again. Our "time changes" are strange. When I worked 12 hr. nights, I was thrilled to give up that hour; when working and time changed, not thrilled to "add that hour". Now, thankfully in retirement, I really don't care. I sleep when my body say's "sleep, you're tired"! I am awake when my body say's "there's no way on earth you'll sleep while it's dark outside"!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind my weird unscheduled life. My friends/family know "never call her before 4pm". Actually, after 43 yrs.(at age 82) of nursing on various hospital shifts, I'm enjoying my final free time to do exactly what I wish to do. I now answer to no one except myself. God is very good.
Good to have you check in. Retirement is glorious in so many ways.
