Today you will find a plum behind the door. The inspiration is the nursery rhyme which finishes,
He stuck in his thumb
And pulled out a plumb
And said, “What a good boy am I”
This is Herod. He thought he had the world by the tail then the wise men showed up. That could have still been a win for him but he felt like he would be able to beat God in the game of history. He was disappointed. God is sovereign. He may grant us free will. He may give us many chances. He may forgive. In the end, He will get things done to His satisfaction.
Are you like Herod? Do you think that you can dictate to God how your history will go? I have news for you, it won’t work. God knows where He is going. He would love to have us along. He might even slow down a little in hopes that we will get on board. In the end it will be done according to His plan.
Embrace the Incarnation. Enjoy that hope. Merry Christmas.

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship
This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.
Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
