Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2022-187: New Laws: Truth in Plagiarism

We need a new law.  We need it to be required that when someone uses Babylon Bee material that it be clearly labeled.  After spending time looking at the news and raising my eyebrows at some of the click-bait, I go to The Bee and find the same “articles”.

I enjoy the Babylon Bee.  They are closer to the truth than the so called “real” media.  At the same time it is good to know that their satire is written with the spirit of poking fun at the world.  It is getting to the point where you can’t believe anything you read except the Bee and they are not claiming to be true, just accurate.

I may need to change my morning routine and read the Babylon Bee first and then the news sites.  It will save me some time.  I might even learn more.

  1. Are you sure it's not just reality catching up with the silliness that the BB describes? That has happened numerous times in the last several years, and seems to occur more rapidly recently. Kind of like "what's the difference between conspiracy theories and the news? About a month."

    1. Or like the difference between a good and bad haircut. Good satire and good humor has a foundation in truth. Too bad the media doesn't know that news is supposed to be the same.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
