Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2021-035: Monday Pulpit: A Fool’s Mouth

In my daily morning worship I came across the following verse,

(Pro 18:6 KJV) A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
Actually, the translation I read spoke to me more clearly,
(Pro 18:6 NAS77) A fool's lips bring strife, And his mouth calls for blows.
We are living in an interesting time.  Remember the Chinese curse.  We have all the leftist talking heads telling us that Trump supporters are going to riot and start an insurrection.  The problem is that it keeps not happening.  I am not sure whom the changing number of National Guard in the capital are there to protect congress from.  It is kind of like installing bars on your windows, lights and cameras in your yard, instant access gun safes by every door in your house, solid steel doors and signing up with a security service when you live in a small town in the middle of Kansas.  Overkill anyone?  Who is paranoid?

At the same time the fools’ lips keep talking about how the President incited a riot.  I notice that they have no video of such an occurrence.  Who is bringing contention?  Who is calling for violence?  I remember my days as a teacher when a group of middle school brats would be standing around a couple of guys egging them on to start a fight.  I remember that one of the pastimes of the kinds was to get a group and run across the campus yelling, “Fight!  Fight!”  Inexperienced security and new teachers loved it too because they had to go check it out.  Those with a bit of experience could tell there was no fight because most of the students were just watching them run instead of flocking to the violence.

Keep your cool, Americans.  Stay calm, patriots.  The fools are trying to get you to do something stupid.  Don’t fall into the trap.  Put your energy into meeting your local sheriff, keeping track of what your local officials, state representatives and federal officers are doing.  If we can make it past the attempts to incite a revolution and stay on our toes, we can make a comeback.

And keep lists.  Write down who is betraying us.  Don’t assume they are Democrats.  Be discerning in the blogs you read.  Watch for the weasels who are trying to walk on both sides of the fence.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
