Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2018-295: Second String

I have become the second string, the back up quarterback, the pinch hitter.

When my wife came home after being gone a few weeks the cat would have nothing to do with her.  That lasted as long as it took the cat to realize that I was no longer the source of food.  The cat disappeared from my room for days.

Now she is appearing again on occasion.  When she does I can conclude that my wife is asleep or has left the house.  It is a good thing I don’t care about cats that much or I might get my feelings hurt.  As it is I know the cat has a need so I pet her when she gets in range.

We both seem to be able to live with that.

  1. I laughed out loud when I read this! I love cats...I am what they call, a "cat person".....Unfortunately I don't share my life with any cats right now, but always have in the past.....Cat's are very strange and mysterious....I think that's why I love their company so much....LOL! Maybe one day in the future I will have a cat again....It's just that I hate stepping on those hairballs in the night.....:)

    1. My wife is a cat person. My daughter is a cat person. I am a wife and daughter person so I guess I will endure.

      Grace and peace

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
