Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2017-304: Fashion King

Recently my wife wanted to run out for something to eat.  Her target was a local hamburger stand that was about 10 miles away.  Keep in mind that the closest gas station is seven miles.  I decided to put on a collared shirt over my t-shirt, after all I was going out of the house with my wife.  She called me a clothes horse.

If I were really a clothes horse I would have made sure that my underwear goes with my socks and I certainly would not have wanted to be seen in public with her dressed the way she was.

Some days you just can’t win.

  1. It's the other way around with us. I figure why put on clean jeans when I'm going to get them dirty as soon as I go outside and tinker in the yard. I wasn't always this way; maybe it has something to do with having only ONE decent pair of jeans and trying not to wear them out.

    1. I can't use that excuse. Recently my wife went shopping and took me along. She made me try on some jeans and over my objections that I have enough, bought two pair. A few days later she complained about me buying too much clothes. You can't win

      Grace and peace.

  3. Everyone knows that you must wear a tuxedo to a hamburger joint in Texas. It's the law.

    1. But that was the law before Texas became a state.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
