Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2017-174: On the Street: More Like on the Road, part 3 of ?

The next day we were making better time.  We were moving along in New Mexico when suddenly a car emerged from the brush in the median strip, turned into the flow of traffic and began driving down the shoulder in the wrong direction.  I wondered what he was doing so I watched him in my rearview mirror.  He pulled out into the fast lane, going the wrong way.  The truck coming up behind me pulled over and let him by, but he kept moving.  I could not see all that happened beyond that, but I did see a big 18 wheeler suddenly make a sharp left turn into the median and a big cloud of dust and smoke in the same area.  Drugs?  Alcohol?  Anger at Trump?  I don’t know.  I hope no one was killed but once again we managed to miss death by a few moments.

At 3:22 P.M. we entered the Republic of Texas.

We kept driving and finally arrived at our reserved hotel.  It was 8:00 P.M. local.  We had been on the road another 10 hours but at least made 500 miles for the day.  Our plan was to rest a day before we headed on.  The motel is a brand name that we have used before but, my wife took one look and I knew we would not be staying there.  I won’t use the language she needed to describe it.  She got her money back.  We were not going to keep going at 8:00 in the middle of nowhere.  We have done that before and driven until 3:00 A.M.  So we looked around and found something better.

Travel is still full of danger and the unknown.

To be continued...

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
