Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2017-015: Ode to Old: Pre-obituary

It occurred to me this morning that some day the world may wake up and see no new post from Pumice.  At first that may not seem unusual, everyone has a bad day, like yesterday.  But as the days go by and you hear no more you will begin to realize that Pumice is no more.  I will have gone to that great website in the sky.

So let me declare right now that the idea holds no fear.  As a Christian I believe that “death” is just another step in “life”.  As the person who has moved on I will not be lonely.  I will be in the presence of the saints and Jesus Himself.  I am not even sure if I will miss you all because at that point I expect to have a better understanding of all the mysteries that were beyond me.

Hope to see you there.

  1. Wouldn't it be great if more folks would allow themselves to understand that?

  2. Hope that's no time soon. By God's grace I will see you there, but, in the meantime, will very much miss reading your posts!

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
