Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2015-144: Firsts: Oatmeal Variations

I enjoy a good bowl of oatmeal.  I am currently working through some that cooks for ten minutes.  It is good but it can still be dressed up.  Cinnamon is good.  Cloves leave a lot to be desired.

I came up with another variation.

You have used or seen the powdered drink mixes that will either make a quart or an individual portion of soft drink.  There are many brands including generic store brands.  The one I used was raspberry flavored and artificially sweetened.

I tried it once with an entire single-serving packet for a bowl of oatmeal and it was too strong.  Today I made a double portion of oatmeal, mixed in the drink powder and sat down to find out if I would enjoy.  For me it was good.  I would not do it every day but if you like oatmeal you might try it.

Of course if you really like oatmeal this would be an adulteration.  Proceed at your own risk.

    1. I would have deleted this comment, Vincent, but being a teacher I felt like this was a teachable moment.

First, we are not thugs on a street corner. The term "your old ass" is considered vulgar and inappropriate in any culture that has any substance.

Second, you need to listen in science more often. The body part that you are describing is not used for the input of prepared oatmeal, but the output of processed oatmeal. Please remember that next time you are eating in a public place.

      Glad to be of service.

      Grace and peace.

    2. Good comeback. If I'd been eating oatmeal while reading this I suspect some of it would have come out my nose while laughing.

    3. First of all that was Saltus who hacked into my phone and commented that. She is a thug so you know what I mean.

Secondly, oatmeal is like really gross. I would have to agree with Saltus on that one buddy.

      Glad to be of service.

    4. Chipmunk, glad to be of service. That is also why this blog recommends always having a napkin handy when eating oatmeal.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
