Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2014-120: Ode to Old: Change of Perspective

I hate buses and rapid transit.  It isn’t rapid.  It clogs roads and requires higher taxes to subsidize it.  You are at the mercy of someone else.  You cannot carry much.  It is dangerous.  Many issues.

I wonder if my attitude toward buses will change when I cannot drive any more.  When I have lots of time and no other way to get where I want to go, will I see things diffrently?

Should I start practicing taking buses so I will be ready when the time comes?

Scary thoughts.

  1. Without the bus system in my area, I would be reduced to relying on relatives or neighbors to take me where I need to go. Given that choice in order to stay as independent as possible, I take the bus, even though it is not my favorite thing to do.

    1. I am also worried about the young thugs that ride the bus. That could just be one of those stereotypes though. It sounds like it works for you. Maybe it will work for me some day.

      Grace and peace.

  2. There is no bus service in the country. I guess that means when I get old, I'll have to move to town. That's an even scarier thought to a country boy like me!

    1. Since I live in town I can understand "scarier." Maybe you could start your own rest home on a hill. If we are blessed, maybe we will just die in our sleep before it is necessary.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
