Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2020-054: Should-a-Beens: Ration Returns

I had a thought on how to deal with the problem of hoarding.  We need the sellers of things like toilet paper to limit or ban the return of the item.  If something was rationed, it can’t be returned.  This would put the hoarders in a real bind but would not effect the people who are simply being prepared.  We tend to buy toilet paper at Cosco in the huge packages.  When we buy it we get three or four.  We have always done it that way.  We have never even come close to running out.  We have no need to return it when the panic recedes because we never did panic buying.  Last week when I saw the empty aisles at Cosco and yesterday when I saw empty shelves at Walmart I was not concerned.  I hope people can get what they need.  Why should grocery stores have to deal with the movement of large quantities of stuff that will be returned through no fault of the store or the manufacturer and cause all kinds of problems with storage?

This would be a double win for people who plan ahead because in a few weeks we would begin seeing toilet paper and hand sanitizer available at yard sales.

Wash your hands.  Regular bar soap will do the job better than hand sanitizer even if it is not as cool.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
