Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2017-410: Headlines: Worth Watching

I have not looked at Drudge very closely but it seems to me that this should be a banner headline.  The Daily Signal tells us the House has passed a Right to Carry Reciprocity bill.  From here I assume it goes to the Senate.

It elevates your license to carry a concealed weapon, a Constitutional Right, to the same level as your drivers’ license.  Since the requirements to exercise a right are more rigorous than what it takes to get a driver’s license, this just makes sense.

It remains to be seen whether the Senate has any sense or not.

The only thing mentioned that concerned me was that there is an increase in information on the back ground check.  That could be good or bad, depending on the information being gathered.

  1. I heard that Pelosi and Schumer managed to get some some gun control features inserted; I don't know if it's true or not.

    1. The problem is always those pesky amendments and the committee that gives the final version. Let us hope.

  2. Saw a tweet from a congressman representing the Bay Area criticizing the bill. Must be a good move then.

    1. See how helpful liberals can be? I used to find the recommendations of the teachers' union very useful for the same reason.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
