Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-20: Election 2016: Winning Planks, Define Citizenship

I have been stirring this soup for awhile but current events bring it to the front burner.  Not because of all the noise about Ted Cruz but because of all the damage being done by anchor babies and court decisions giving even illegal immigrants the benefit of all Constitutional rights.  It is a discussion that the Republicans need to be having because the Democrats are out to destroy the country by winning elections based on importing voters.

First, we need an open discussion of who is a citizen.  Right now if you are the child of border jumpers and your mother jumped the border to make sure you were born here, you are a citizen.  That was not the original intent.  The idea was that people who came here to be productive, permanent citizens would have children who would be citizens.  It was to avoid a bunch of paperwork to establish what should be obvious.  Having an anchor baby so you won’t be deported is an idea who’s time should have come and gone.

There should be some reasonable solution that can be worked out, such as bestowing retroactive citizenship on children when their parents become citizens.

Then we have the problem of citizens having no more rights than anyone else.  If someone who just beat the Federales across the border has the same constitutional rights that I enjoy having lived here all my life, what is the point of being a citizen.  Certain rights should be for citizens, not the world.  If you are here illegally the only due process you should get is to make sure you are illegal and then send you back where you came from.  If you return again, then start some labor gangs to build the wall.  Make it clear and follow through.

And how about all the welfare and health care benefits people get who are breaking the law just by being here.  Maybe we could bill the country of origin for the cost of maintaining their people.  We would not need to deport anyone who is illegal if we would simply take away all the freebies that are handed out from cell phones to surgery.

This might require a Constitutional amendment followed by immediate impeachment of any judge who goes against it.

Tough talk?  Unfortunately it is only talk at this point.

  1. Never gonna happen, but wish it would.

  2. Sometimes I get to thinking the illegals have more benefits of being a citizen than I. My part is just to quietly have money taken from my paycheck to pay for it all. Not that I'm bitter, or anything...

    1. You don't just think it, it is a reality. Keep in mind that the Progressives are not going to waste their time trying to buy your vote. Illegals are a low cost, high return investment.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
