Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-18: Surprise! Hypocrisy on the Left

This link only lasted one day on Drudge.  I don’t know if it was judged lacking in interest or just too embarrassing to the race baiters of the left.  The headline from the Hollywood Reporter had to do with the next Nancy Drew not being white.  That in itself is not surprising and not worth comment.  We are used to this kind of nonsense.

The problem is in the hypocritical racism of the elitist media moguls.  The article has this quote,
“CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller revealed Tuesday that the network's reimagining of the iconic character will be diverse.

"’[She will] not [be] Caucasian,’ he stressed. ‘I'd be open to any ethnicity.’”
Evidently not.  If he could state ahead of time that she would not be white then it would seem obvious that he was not open to any ethnicity.  Racism under any mantle is still racism.

I don’t have problems with a non-white Nancy Drew.  When I see artwork from Africa that has a black Jesus, no problem.  When I see Asian pictures of Jesus from the East, again no problem.  When I see Jesus portrayed as a white northern European I am also aware of the fantasy.  I can roll with it.  What I bristle at is the so called non-racists using racist logic and acting like they are open minded, tolerant and intelligent.

But nothing new here.

  1. The worst racists going are blacks, in my experience (and those who try to placate them).

  2. If I were making a scale I would put them close to the top but I would put Asians higher with Koreans at the peak. In general the tendency of people to prefer others like themselves is also construed as racism.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
