Opus 2018-052: On the Street: House for Sale
Down the street from us we went to an estate sale. Actually it was a retirement sale. The people were selling their home and most of its contents and planning on hitting the road in an RV. The house is going to list at $450,000. The neighbors are laughing. They think the price is ridiculous. They don’t know people from California.
We had some fun telling them that maybe Maxine Waters would be looking for a place to hide when she retires. Or maybe Diane Feinstein would take a look. The neighbors were not amused. I think they may take up a collection to buy the house themselves.
People leaving California are pushing home prices up in Texas. In many towns the locals are being priced out of the market. It is not uncommon for someone to sell their home in California and buy two or three houses in Texas. If we could administer a clear thinking test that would not bother me but one of the things I noticed in years of teaching is that graffiti artists always like to find the cleanest wall or book to practice their creativity. After years of working to destroy California the liberals want to retire to areas that have not gone down hill so much. The problem is that they bring their politics with them.
So I recommend that we build the wall but start with the eastern border of the People’s Republik of Kalifornia.

Opus 2018-051: Conspiracy, Anyone?
I don’t have a membership card in the Tin-Foil Hat Society but today I am going to apply for a one day guest pass.
In case your taste in viewing is a little more sheltered than some, you need to know that there is a plethora of people publishing video blogs who are convinced that the deep state is poised to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States and put the resources of America at the disposal of a One World Government. One of their themes is that the CIA and FBI have sold out the citizens of the country and are at the root of most of the crime and corruption in the country. They talk about human trafficking and the sale of body parts. They have linked almost every president back to George I and they are all out to bring down Donald Trump. On a bad day they think that Donald Trump is in on it too.
One of the theories they are throwing out is that the recent school shooting was actually done by the FBI and the Cruz kid is just their dupe. It sounded crazy to me. It sounded like Tin Foil Hat time. It was laughable.
Then I find out that there was a sheriff’s deputy on the school grounds during the entire shooting and instead of engaging the shooter he hid. That also does not make sense. He was not a new cop. He had received rewards for how well he worked with the kids which means to me that he would have some emotional involvement with them. Why would a seasoned cop hide from a kid who only had his gun for a few weeks?
Maybe he wasn’t hiding from Cruz. Maybe he saw a group of organized and obviously trained men executing children and realized he was dead meat if they ever became aware of his presence. Maybe the Tin Hats have something. If you read the article about this officer it says that he has resigned and is being guarded by six deputies. The reason is to protect him from the public. Do you need six officers to protect someone from a bunch of high school snow flakes? Maybe they are protecting him from the FBI. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? And now we find there were at least three more deputies cowering outside the school.
I have not been reading everything about the shooting but in what little I have seen there are no eye witnesses to Cruz actually doing the shooting. Have I missed it? Then you have the video of the girl who said she was talking to Cruz as the shooting started. Is she still alive or has she committed suicide or died in a plane crash? Sure he confessed but with all of the mental problems he obviously has would that be hard to coerce?
Why would the FBI do something like this? Why do they do a lot of what they do. Ask Scooter Libby who did nothing wrong. Ask Mike Flynn who did nothing wrong. Ask Hillary Clinton who has broken repeated laws and is still walking free.
We live in interesting times, tin hats or not.

Opus 2018-050: Headlines: Response Time, Zero
My mouth literally fell open when I saw the first headline. I can’t remember where but I will link to Fox News as a place you can look if you have not seen this. It seems that the site of the recent school shooting did have an armed guard and he did nothing. So much for the solution of mercenaries to guard the emperor.
It seems that there was a duly sworn deputy, armed and trained who was on the school grounds during the latest school shooting. It would seem that the police were doing there job, at least the department had someone there. Could he have stopped the slaughter? We will never know. It seems he didn’t even try. In this case the response time was zero. I get the impression he was on campus when the shooting started. Instead of engaging the shooter he hid himself.
It will be interesting if the rage of the students and the media will lash out at the officer who hid as much as it has toward the NRA that was not there.
There has been much talk about solutions to the problem of school shootings. I read another article of another school where an armed guard stopped the shooter cold. Here that did not work so well. Armed protection only works when the protector accepts the risk. There is no way to know ahead of time. I would suggest that this tells us rent-a-cop might not be the best.
I would also submit that raising the age of legal purchase won’t work. We know that making guns illegal won’t work. It certainly hasn’t stopped drug abuse, drunk driving or prostitution. The shooter is already breaking the law of “Gun free zone” and “Thou shall not murder” so what is the big deal about getting an illegal gun?
Again I think the only solution is to allow teachers to carry or at least allow them to have a gun locked in their car or in a safe in the room. I think there is less chance of a teacher going psycho and shooting up a school than a kid who has been drugged for years finally losing it.
It is interesting that the little detail about an armed sheriff’s deputy on campus took so long to come out.

Opus 2018-049: Caution, Blizzard Ahead
What happens when you get to many snowflakes blown by a lot of hot air? A Soros financed rally posing as a protest over a school shooting. The snowflakes start as a blizzard realizing the world is not a safe space and the hot air of CNN causes them to melt and we have a flood of nonsense. The One World Government people, financed by George Soros and his ilk have sent out their surrogates in the Media, organized their agents in the Democratic party and sent instructions to the Rinos to try to step up the attack on the Second Amendment.
Everyone knows the problem is too many guns. It isn’t too many mind altering drugs. It isn’t schools that teach there are no consequences. It isn’t law enforcement that looks the other way. It isn’t a lack of parenting. It isn’t anything but too many guns. It makes me wonder what my guns are doing when I am not watching. I think maybe I will install a camera to see if they are sneaking out when I am not looking and shooting people.
The gun hysteria is based on lies and manipulation. You don’t need to look very far to see the claim of 18 school shootings this year and it doesn’t take much research to realize that fits into the quote attributed to several people,
It would seem to me that all of the manipulation of young people by the left in the hysteria over the latest school shooting should be filed in the category of “child abuse”. When the adults in charge do nothing to protect the students and then blame the NRA, the mindless children show up to chant and get on TV. If nothing else it gets them out of class. They might wonder though, did the NRA declare their school a “no gun zone”? Did the shooter ignore the “no gun zone” signs? Did the coach who was murdered and had a gun at home obey the “no gun zone” signs? Who is more at fault here, the liberals who put up signs or the crazy kid who ignored them?
If they take away our Second Amendment rights then keep in mind that every home in America will become a “no gun zone”, but only for the homeowner. The criminals will think of them as Comedy Central.

Have you ever felt an inclination to accept the opinion of experts? Maybe you will want to take a look at this article in The Free Beacon. A group of “experts”, i.e. political science scholars, sat down and rated presidents. I will give you one guess who they rated as worst. You nailed it, Donald Trump. And the same group of wise heads say that Obama was eighth best, right ahead of Ronald Reagan. My first reaction was to check the web site to make sure I was not reading the People’s Cube. They are known for their satire. No, these people are serious.
I would suggest if you are ever looking for a group to pick a doctor for you, don’t go to these people. They would probably recommend Dr. Kevorkian. The article made a big deal of showing how even the Republican scholars rated Obama high and Trump low. My guess is that the “Republicans” in the group were people who had re-registered so that their departments could claim diversity. I would guess that all of them voted for Obama, twice.
Be careful whom you trust. Be double careful if they have a Ph.D.

Opus 2018-047: Headlines: Liberal Projection Is Chronic
We are seeing a lot of violence and threatened violence recently. The ones getting accused are conservatives. The ones doing the threatening are Democrats (aka socialists, communists, progressives, tolerant open-minded liberals). The Left keeps talking about the violent rhetoric of conservative talk radio but the majority of threats are against the right. We see that in this article from The Free Beacon. It seems that the head of the EPA is getting so many death threats that his security people are requiring him to fly first class.
Notice the criticism here. The head of EPA is not taking a private jet. He is not having the Air Force dedicate a plane for his use. He is simply flying first class. The criticism is coming from a group of people who fly their personal jets to environmental conferences and live in huge mansions. The criticism is hyperbole and hypocrisy. Maybe if they would stop threatening him he could fly business or coach.
Actually, I have no problem with people in high pressure, executive positions flying first class. I was bumped from a flight once and part of my payoff was to fly at another time in first class. It was an awesome experience but one I will never pay for. If I were an executive that billed the way these people do for their time then the extra cost would be worth it. I would be able to get some work done during the flight. I would arrive in much better physical condition so I could get on with the business at hand. A congress critter flying home for a political rally can sardine in coach. The secretary of defense should fly first class.
I will continue to fly Southwest and try for an aisle seat. One consolation is that Sheila Jackson Lee will never try to make me move so she can have my seat. If you know not of what I speak, check out The Daily Mail article.
