Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

 Opus 2023-011: Election 2024: Choices

I hope he is never my only choice for president.

The thought occurred to me as I was reading another political opinion by John Hinderaker of the Power Line site.  He has been staying away from Trump bashing so I had started reading some of his posts again.  Today he was on another tangent about how the conservatives in congress who were refusing to vote for McCarthy for speaker were refusing to be responsible and having temper tantrums.  They should go along with the Rino leadership.  After all, the public might laugh at them, etc.  Never once did he mention that the Rinos are Lucy holding the football, promising to stand up for conservative principles and trying to get the Charlie Browns to fall on their faces.

I hope he is never my only choice for president.

That made me think of all the others who would fit that bill.

Then there are the ones I could vote for with a good feeling.

Then there are the ones I think I could vote for but might just be ignorant of the skeletons.

There are the ones who might convince me that they are worse than the Democrat.  At this point I don’t know who they would be but intellectually I understand the concept.

There are even a few that might drive me to vote for Beto.  No, not really.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
