Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2022-239: Headlines: Jesus Wept

There are times when I wonder that anyone will listen to Christians and their claims.  I refer to a sentence dropped in an article in the Gateway Pundit that had nothing to do with the Christian faith except animosity.  I am not sure what the point of the writing was.  It doesn’t matter to my point.

As I was trying to follow the twists and turns I came across this statement,

"Hutchinson’s son was a Christian pro-lifer who cooperated with the corrupt DOJ and it was later revealed he used funds paid to him as an FBI informant to fund his stripper girlfriend’s abortion.”
There is so much wrong with this sentence that I have to assume the author was either aware of what he was saying and is a total cynic or did not know what he was talking about and is ignorant.  Based on his contacts with the DOJ and the FBI the man was a liar and a hypocrite.  He had a “stripper girlfriend” and I would assume their relationship was not Platonic or limited to Wednesday night Bible study and Sunday School picnics.  He was going to pay for an abortion.  I don’t need to be judgmental here.  All I need to know is what the Bible says about these types of behaviors to know that the fellow was not a Christian, let alone a pro-lifer.

There are times when the shortest verse in the Bible sits on my shoulders and says, “Won’t you join me.”

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
