Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2020-212: On the Street: An Introvert Converses

I am an introvert.  That does not mean I cannot have conversations, just that I don’t need them.  So I am willing to talk to people I encounter when I am out walking.  This week I was amazed at how well informed my neighbor was.  Unlike most people I run into, he was aware of the chaos in Seattle and Portland.  So I asked him, “Where do you get your news?”  It was obvious he was not listening to CNN.

“Talk radio,” he answered.  That makes sense.

Think about where we would be if it wasn’t for Rush Limbaugh.  He started the trend and now there are dozens of voices speaking up.  At this point in time Rush is the only voice I will accept as totally worth listening to.  You can take what he says to the bank.  There are not very many like that today.

As you probably know, he is fighting lung cancer.  Keep him in your prayers.  I think we still need his voice.  Now we just need to convince God about that.

  1. I haven't listened to the radio for years. The one in the truck went out as soon as the warranty was over and you can't seem to buy a good desk model or transistor around here.

    1. I have one but rarely listen unless my wife is in the car. Of course I still don't get to listen to the radio but I know it is on.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
