Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2016-214: Defining Danger

A post at Gun Free Zone quoted a news article about another highly trained police officer letting of an “accidental” live round on a school campus.  We have all seen the video of the cop who fires off a round in front of a class.  In this case the gun was supposed to be loaded with blanks but evidently no one bothered to check before pulling the trigger.
The line that set me to laughing was,
“Rockwood Police Chief Danny Wright told 10News. ‘Nobody was ever in danger.’”
Now let’s review a few details.  A cop had a loaded gun.  He pulled the trigger in the hallway of a school.  Just how is it that the police chief knows that nobody was in danger?  If the trained officer was so negligent that he didn’t check his loads before he pulled the trigger I would suggest that everyone on the campus was in danger.

These are the people who want to disarm the population and let the police keep us safe.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
