My son is a geek. I turn to him for all things computer. When a key broke on my laptop I asked him for solutions. I had a key sticking and I took it off to clean under it. I have done this before but this time I could not get the key to go back on. I handed it to him. There are times when for no known reason computers will behave in his hands. We figure they are afraid of him. But in this case his touch didn’t work. On examination one of the tiny plastic clips had broken off. It refused to be healed.
He discovered that a replacement keyboard was only $16 and found a video that showed how to do it. Two days later it arrived and he told me to try to do it. After a few false starts I had it done. I, the original Mister Thumbs, changed the keyboard on my laptop. It works so much better I am wondering if I should change it every year.
This old dog learned a new trick.
