Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2024-051: Be a Lifeline

One reason liberals don’t have a sense of humor it’s because they are so ignorant.  Many times when I am looking at memes I have to stop and stare a while until I get the connection and then it’s funny.  If I don’t have a background I never get it.  One example of this problem for me is I’m seeing more and more memes that focus on celebrities or movies I don’t follow.  I will never get the joke on that.  I am ignorant there.  I just move on.

Keep in mind that ignorant does not mean stupid.  I am not stupid but when it comes to all the flap about Taylor Swift.  I not only don’t know, I don’t care.  Of course I could educate myself.  Sometimes I do that by asking questions of my children or others who care about certain topics.  I will try to listen and understand.  At the back of my mind is always the possibility that I am totally wrong.  It is a possibility but not a probability.

Be patient with your liberal friends, if you have any.  Their condition may be curable and you may be the only lifeline they have.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
