More and more science fiction is inadequate for a good read.
I am finding I need to suspend more and more belief and knowledge to stay in the story. The current politically correct mantra keeps interrupting the plot.
evolution
gender equality, woman warriors
climate change
homosexual agenda
It used to be that science fiction would speculate on the future based on a knowledge of the present. They were usually wrong but it was good fun all around.
Now they are parroting the nonsense of the psuedoscience, crony science or political science, science that is masquerading as peer reviewed research.
I was able to suspend belief during Star Wars because I loved the special effects and you always had Harrison Ford. Not so much any more.
I guess I could turn to western and travelogues.
