This morning I found myself in a strange position. I was grateful for being able to push the lawn mower. That does not make sense. I have never enjoyed yard work and have been able to avoid it most of my life. Now suddenly I am thanking God for the task.
It is amazing what a little thinking and change in perspective can do for you. I just had my annual physical, excuse me, wellness check. In the waiting room there was a good example of people in my general demographic. There were obviously a lot of problems present that I did not have or expect to have. Or picture going to the grocery store and seeing the people in the electric go carts. Every morning when I go for a walk the first thing I do is thank God for my mobility.
I think we all have a lot to be grateful for if we stop to consider. I am not yet to the point of being grateful for the ability to get down and scrub a toilet, but the day may come.
