At my age I had to check out the Drudge teaser, “Dementia cure may be just five years away”. Before I clicked on the link I made a little bet with myself, actually two bets. My first bet was that it would be in an English newspaper. I won. My second bet was that it would be based on pure speculation and hope. It was a two-fer for me.
Dementia is something that hovers on the horizon for all of us as we get older. This article, like so many others, gives no evidence that there is any cure coming down the pike. It is simply a retiring executive who has made his living researching dementia making a statement that he believe a cure will be found.
I guess it gets readers.
