Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

Welcome to Varied Expressions of Worship

This blog will be written from an orthodox Christian point of view. There may be some topic that is out of bounds, but at present I don't know what it will be. Politics is a part of life. Theology and philosophy are disciplines that we all participate in even if we don't think so. The Bible has a lot to say about economics. How about self defense? Is war ethical? Think of all the things that someone tells you we should not touch and let's give it a try. Everything that is a part of life should be an expression of worship.

Keep it courteous and be kind to those less blessed than you, but by all means don't worry about agreeing. We learn more when we get backed into a corner.

Opus 2015-124: Star Surfing

I am uncoordinated.  I was in fifth grade before I learned to ride a bike.  I was 25 years old before I understood give-and-go on the basketball court.  I am not sure if I can walk and chew gum because I don’t chew gum.  Maybe that is the reason.

I was thinking about all the things that look like fun that I will never try.  I might put one foot on a skateboard but I make sure I have two hands on a rail and the other foot on the ground.  I would try skiing but I have memories of my children being helicoptered out of the mountains after a brief trip on the snow and a meeting with a tree that could not get out of the way in time.  There is a long list of things I will never do in this life.

What about the next life?  What will eternity be like?  Will Jesus teach me to surf?  Will I ever be able to play the piano?  Will I be able to eat and not come down with diabetes?

Or will it be so overloaded with unimaginable experiences that sky-diving will sound boring?  Just think of finding out that your best sexual experience seems like iceberg lettuce when you look at the potential ingredients available.

It will be a glorious eternity.

  1. I guess there's only one way to know - just wait and see.

    1. I'm not even sure that I will remember I asked the question. Remind me at the time.

      Grace and peace.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
