Opus 2025-599: Annual Lock Down

It is so satisfying.  It’s an unusual year.  I drove to my children’s house to spend Christmas morning with my grandchildren.  They were sick last night so we didn’t get together.  I’m assuming we’re gonna have dinner together today but I’m going to be there while they open their gifts.  What a privilege.

What’s really satisfying about the trip is to see how the town is totally shut down.  Well maybe not totally, gas stations are still open.  It looked like McDonald’s has a sign on.  But for the most part, businesses have said this is a special day.  They may not know why it’s special.  They may hate the reason for the season, so to speak.  But they still shut down.  I would like to think it’s out of sensitivity for their employees, but it’s probably more a matter of knowing that they’re not going to do a lot of business on this day combined with the fact that people might notice that they’re open when they don’t need to be.

Anyway, it was a very pleasant drive and with the rewared of seeing my grandchildren.

Merry Christmas
