Opus 2025-507: Uncharted Revelation

I am beginning an attempt to work my way through Revelation and find some sense in it.  I do so with no organized system of eschatology.  I have no chart showing all the stages of the tribulation and have an open mind as far as when the rapture takes place.  You might say it is uncharted territory for me.

I cannot guarantee that I will have the persistence to work all the way through.  I cannot guarantee that I will have something to say about every portion.  I’m doing this for myself.  I have worked through Revelation before, but always with more skepticism than seeking.  I’m going to see if I can change that.

I look at it as a challenge.  When I go out to dinner with someone or enjoy a meal at their house there are times when I am challenged to try something new.  Sometimes it is a new use of chickpeas at a Mediterranean restaurant and you get double thumbs up.  Once at a church potluck, it was pickled pigs feet and I have not forgiven the person who recommended it to me as a delicacy. There are some things that you never know until you try.  There are other things that are not worth the effort.

Part of this is my journey through old age.  I’m coming to think that one of the ways we can keep our minds sharp is by challenging it and making it to work.  I expect Revelation to be a challenge.

Wish me luck.
