Opus 2025-221: Divine Multitasking

Sitting on the porch, looking out toward the dawn in the east, I’m enjoying the parade of clouds across the sky.  Suddenly it occurred to me that those clouds out there on the horizon are moving with vigor.  The ones halfway to the horizon almost seem to be rushing to dinner.  The winds in those areas must really be dramatic.  At the same time where I sit, there’s nothing but a mild and very gentle breeze.

What a reminder of how God is able to work in different people’s lives in different ways at the same time.  One person may be in the midst of high winds while another is enjoying a balmy spring morning.  Which experiences which is totally up to God.  How He decides who gets the storm and who gets the breeze is a mystery.  I’m convinced that all of our troubles and all of our rewards are not based on our behavior, because God works in mysterious ways, and His grace is administered according to His plans and priorities, not ours.

Still, it is glorious to get insights into the flexibility and creativity of Almighty God.  Enjoy the glory that He gives us in the heavens above us as well as in our front yards.
